Going vegan......old style?!

Hi,
Thanks for reply. Not very simple is it. I am glad I don't drink coffee!
But having said that the coffee has to pay for the rent, so we will have to sold it. Apparently filter coffee doesn't curdle but instant does according to one of my vegan friends, so that may be the answer.

Another question and a bit of fun perhaps.
We are also going to sell vegan sandwiches. Although I have many recipes and a long long list of suggestions on my blog. If you wanted to buy a vegan sandwich from a cafe, what would you like? We are in the middle of a student area, so would like them to be cheap ideas, but all ideas welcome!
Don't really want to do the usual hummous, falafel, salad, yeast extract or peanut butter. Although probably will do houmous just in different flavour combinations. I guess it depends on what you put with it really.
Thanks in advance
Sandra

Hi Murrell
I use either Oat so good or Rice Dream in my coffee which doesn't curdle (though I don't have my coffee dreadfully strong.)
For sandwiches, how about:
Green lentil pate and variations on additions
Avocado, sweetcorn and red pepper/tomato with Marie Rose sauce using dairy free mayo
Mixed bean salad wrap
Roasted veg wrap with guacamole and/or salsa
I know you said you don't want to go in for peanut butter but I do like peanut butter and lime pickle - yum!
Good luck with the new opportunity! I have a little dream of running a little vegan deli and spend far longer than is normal fantasising what delights I would offer :rotfl:Love and compassion to all x0 -

I'm a bit of a pleb - the only thing I like about filter coffee is the smell when you open the packet. I prefer instant. Recently I was really craving a coffee (I hadn't had one for ages because of the curdling). I have to have a spoon in it all the time so that I can stir it before taking a sip (so all the curdled bits mix in - sounds horrible I know
)

Thanks for the idea. Now you know why its long time no see, I'm a bit busy with this. I still subscribe to kitty, but just search for murrell, kitty, vegetarian and vegan unless you have only about 7 posts then I read them!!0 -
Just incase you didn't know there is another vegan thread.

Goodness, goodness me. I can't believe it's been soooo long since I've been on here. Did I really get too sidetracked by other things that I couldn't keep referring back to my fave thread???
I have a lot to catch up on -- understatement of the year!!:( -- and hope the regulars are keeping well.
But before I take, I'd better give -- my local Co-op has been doing mixed nuts for 99p (previously £1.59 I think) so I picked up three packets yesterday.
Their muesli is also vegan (or I think two out of three were....) and I thought quite good value at £1.69. Will endeavour to make my own at some stage though.
And for the perfume buffs among us, I learnt last week that Stella Peony (I think it's called that anyway) is vegan so if I'm near a duty free this year I'll be snapping it up.
Take care guys xx0 -
Pure are now doing an olive oil spread, if anyone would prefer olive to sunflower or soya0
