Going vegan......old style?!

Redwoods and Frys from Holland and Barrett are both vegan. Which chocolate did you buy? Allergens(?) whizzers, footballs and chocolate mini eggs are vegan too- you can probably get them from independent health shops. I know our H&B has stopped selling them. Starburst are vegan - although I don't buy anything made by Mars because they conduct horrendous tests on animals.

Personally I can't stand Linda McCartney sausages, but I didn't mind the pies (pastry ones, not the cottage one which I haven't tried).

Mr T frozen veggie mince is vegan too. I did start using dry soya mince recently because of the cost, but I've since gone back to the frozen as the flavour is so much better.

chocolate was called dairy free rice crackle by sweetwillian says its for vegans on the packet they had others too . my h&b is rubbish its tiny they do sell fake chesse and sandwich meat but not much else. think i will forget about starburst :eek: didnt know about the animal testing and just stock up from boots to give the kids :j

we used to have a linda mccartney roast every now and then but its got egg in:( havent tried the pies might pick some up next time im in asda

I know that chocolate. I've tried it before, but wasn't really keen. Montezumas do some vegan white and milk chocolate, but I've only seen it available by mail order and it's not cheap.

My son was vegan until he discovered cheese at about 9 years old. He tried meat at friends houses a couple of times too but has decided to be veggie.

EASILY AVAILABLE VEGAN SWEETS:

Bassett's: Mint Creams, Pear Drops
Trebor soft mints: Peppermint, Spearmint
Trident soft: Peppermint, Spearmint, strawberry smoothie, tropical twist
Masterfoods: blackcurrant, strawberry, apple
Tunes coughsweets: cherry and I think now all flavours are ok
Vimto fizzy centred lollypops
Wrigleys - chewing gums - all products vegan.

polos are also vegan, but nestle is often boycotted by vegans because of there baby milk marketing campaigns.

Hope this helps. Please recheck ingredients though. What can be vegan one day, can change the next.

:T thanks will look out for them made justamums cakes today and they where a big hit im trying to swap "normal:o" stuff with vegan stuff slowly so the kids dont notice they never had much meat alway just milk,cheese and eggs

Has anyone tried Booja Booja chocolates? They are amazing, but a little pricey, you wouldn't believe they could be vegan, they are so creamy! Although they are pretty strong chocolate. The hazelnut ones taste a little bit like better quality ferrero rocher!

Organica also do a chocolate coated coconut bar (like bounty) and a chocolate coated hazelnut nougat bar which are incredible. Oh, and I can't remember the name, but there is a dark chocolate coated marzipan bar out there somewhere, I just get it from my local healthfood shop. Mmmm, now I am hungry.......

Oh yes, almost forgot, organica's vegan white chocolate is also very tasty
