Hi everyone
Brrrrrr it is getting really cold here now. I've got the fire on, extra layers and a fleece blanket around my shoulders because I can't seem to get warm. DH on the other hand is walking around in a short sleeved t-shirt! (He is wearing other clothes by the way, not just the t-shirt!)
I'm very tired at the mo, so think the reason I am cold is to do with this. Was sent home from work last week (I looked like something from the Michael Jackson Thriller video, all zombie like!) and ended up spending the end of the week resting. My boss, when giving me my back to work interview, has suggested that maybe I came back too soon after losing my dad and combined with the m.e. it is impacting on me more than I thought it would. I am working reduced hours at the mo, till I get myself used to being back and more in the right frame of mind. This isn't exactly helped when you have a wicked stepmother (otherwise known as the black widow or the widow featherstone, as in Ronnie Barkers Open All Hours !), who is not being very kind and seems to have quickly forgotten she is supposed to be mourning the loss of my dad and is instead clearing out all traces of his presence.
Anyway, enough of my rambling. Sorry to have wittered on, but you are all so friendly, I just needed to get things off my chest. Thanks for listening. Off to look at the rest of the boards, if I can keep my eyes open.
Bargainbird - a new addition to the OS family. How fab. Many congrats to you and yours and may you all enjoy this next stage of your life together.I got there - I'm debt free and intend to stay that way. If I haven't got the cash, it doesn't get bought. It's as simple as that.0 -
Thankfully DD'S baby is medium sized for dates, so there was no need for all the stress and worry this morning:rolleyes:

Hi Candy
Glad it all seems ok, sometimes I think they just like to be over cautious. I spent every pregnancy being told that my babies were HUGE, no-one ever seemed to realise that as I'm only 4'11 the baby looked big compared to me, mine were all between 5 & 8 lbs. My neighbour spent her pregnancy being told her baby was far too small, my neighbour was 6'2, her baby was over 9lbs

Apologies, I've not read the whole thread yet.
Hockeyduo - so sorry to hear your news, what a shock. Condolences to the rest of the family too.
Ladymay Welcome! You're right about the thread - people on here are lovely. I'm fairly new to it myself but people could not be more welcoming.
Another nightmare of a day at work but myself and our Manager have been working together to try to deal with the problems as they have come up. We spent most of the morning out in the yard helping to load lorries! Fingers crossed tomorrow might be better - at least we managed to leave pretty much on time tonight.
Got a call from my Mum this morning to say she'd gone flying on a slippery bit of ground last night and ended up at the hospital for four hours. Apparently she's got a black eye and badly cut face, plus badly pulled muscles in her right arm and shoulder. Poor thing. I'm off round there to see her now so shall say goodnight for now.

Candygirl - I'm so pleased for you and your DD. That's very reassuring news. I do wish they would find out first, before frightening people; the worrying could have been alleviated.
EssexHebridean - (((hugs))) to your poor mum. I hope she's not feeling too sore.
Well, I've just had a bath - DH is in the same bath water now; very OS! I wouldn't get in after him, though! I'm going to settle down and watch TV while I do some knitting.
Hope everyone has a good evening.

N9Eav I’m another in agreement with your view on prices, as someone owned by 2 cats I have seen price of their food rise quite a lot and the litter which used to cost me £1.95 a year ago is now £2.95. They do go out but they like an indoor tray too.
Mioliere I’ve almost stopped using my TD, hang washing out when possible, use an airer and think I’ll get some of those radiator airers too (although I have visions of the cats thinking they are new centrally heated beds just for them).
Oh Halight not man flu! Good luck with your volunteering, I am sure you will find it rewarding.
Freeinthree – congratulations on the IVF approval.
Hockeyduo sorry to hear your sad news.
Hello and welcome Ladymay
Thenanny2die4 – hope you find a new position with someone who appreciates your skills and where you will be happy.
Beth, hope you are having a lovely time.
EssexH hope your Mum is ok, I imagine she is quite shaken up.
Silvercharming :T :T :T well said about our lack of “real” choices.
I used to love our “big” Co-op, with all the metal cash canisters zooming on overhead wires from the counter assistants to the cashier and back again! Ah, divi day! lol.
Hugs to those who are poorly, sad or worried. Furry hugs to the poorly pets especially all the new puppies being hand reared by Sunnyday’s friends.0
