Hello peeps :hello:Long time no post!
Been vvvvvvvvvery busy of late.
Mortgage SO taken out today. Online balance won't update until Moday so I'll leave the update until then.
Fridge broke about two weeks ago. Fridge running at -3 degrees and freezer warm
Was mentally preparing myself for forking out for a new one. But, then I thought, heck I'm going to try and fix it
I replaced the thermostat as this would be the first place to start being I knew nothing about fridges. Was it sucessful, ermm no! £20 down the pan.
Then went and did a fair bit of research and carried out some tests.
The capacitor and motor in the defrost timer had gone. The coils behind the freezer compartment was one massive 3 inch thick block of ice  The air could not pass over the coils and enter the freezer via the fan and hence the freezer wasn't cold enough. The compressor was vertually always on as it was trying to get the freezer cold. In turn the coils entering behind the fridge was really cold and forming ice at the back of the fridge and it was running at - 3 degrees.
Due to the defrost timer not turning, in was not ever going into defrost mode, and hence the ice build up over the coil.
Purchase a new defrost timer (£25) and this arrived this week. This then didn't work as one of the components inside was the wrong size. However, I canabalised the old and new timer to make a fully functioning one
It now works perfectly :T:T
I'm very satisfied with myself. Bet there aren't many accountants out there who fix their own fridge. :rotfl:
Electricity usage has now dropped as the compressor was constantly on before.
All in all £45 to fix a fridge (plus a bit for buying food each day and some sandwiches at work for lunch) is not too bad really.
So, If your fridge breaks, give me a PM and I'll try and help :rotfl: Should I change my career? :rotfl:
Oh, the toilet broke as well. Fixed this too. Relativly simple really.
Between the age of about 12 - 15 i use to skateboard vertually every day. On the way to work, I walk passed one of the skateparks I once went to. The combination of seeing the park each day and, I know it's silly, people at work not believing I have those type of skills, got a very stong erdge to have a go!
Pulled out my old skateboard and hit my local skatepark.
In summary, absolutely brilliant. Took me right back. It was free (other than £1.74 on some bolts) and I loved it as all the tricks came flooding back with very little effort.
I don't think I'm passed it at the age of 20. Could be a nice thing to do once a week say (weather permitting) to help me keep fit (anything would be better than now) and have a bit of me time doing a hobby I clearly won't be able to do forever.
Feel like I can't move at the moment though as I did fall over a few times :rotfl:

I can taste that £130k markI reckon I could make this next month. Quite a bit in advance of my 21st birthday on 17.11 target!
Overpayment about £230 less than I had hoped. This would have been made up from the britsh gas credit balances I received. But having to fix the fridge and spend £109 more on glasses really swallowed that up
That reminds me, I need to write my letter of complaint for them !!!!!!ing up my prescription and charging me £109 for the lenses, when I could have ordered them on the internet for £49  Not sure what will come of this, but worth a try

Have just realised, if we do not make any OPs, our balance will be £129,997.93 on 01.11.2009
I guess that means we have officially met this target. Woohoo!
We will automatically be OPing by £168.93 a month from having reduced our term. Meaning, with no actual OPs from the banks eyes (I count the £168.93 as an OP as we only reduced the term to not hit the OP limit) we will have a balance of £129,488.72 on 01.11.2009.
I'm tempted to set a new target for perhaps 01.12.2009 to be in line for the start of the MFiT-T2. I will give it some thought :think:Mortgage started May 08 @ £144,499 for 35 yrs:eek: Must get mortgage sub £100k by xmas 2011

Well done! :T
I've also had to revise my year end target because I will reach it this month, and I have also revised my MFiT-T2 target.
When I set this year's target at the end of last year, I thought it would stretch us, but was within reach.
I didn't count on how motivated it makes you to want to achieve it.
Keep up the good work.0 -
Dear D1 - Well done!! I have just read through your thread - very impressive! I've just signed up for the MF in 3 year challenge, which is ambitious, given that I may be a full time student (again) from September 2010, but hey, nothing ventured...
One question though - can I ask where you downloaded your spreadsheets from? Maths isn't my strong point, but the info you're capturing is exactly the sort I am looking for to maintain resolve!

Hi QB
Thank-you v.much. I find having a diary really motivational. Do you have one on here?
The spreadsheet I drew up myself. It is very much tailored to my needs and mortgage as I like it to be to the penny!
I have sent it to pammyj74 on here and tailored it to her mortgage.
Let me know if perhaps you would like one. I would need some details about your mortgage to make it very accurate.
The amount of interest saved is the biggest motivational tool I think.

Sounds to me like your certainly going to have the motivation needed to OP once you've got all those jobs finished!Mortgage started May 08 @ £144,499 for 35 yrs:eek: Must get mortgage sub £100k by xmas 2011
