Have you applied? try it and if they accept you, just cancel it if you dont need it..... it does mention a credit check but they may not even do one, halifax are slack aren't they?

but i had 6 searches in the last 30 days.
term and cons say ,need a month without being declined.
so ill wait a month.
also have basic account.but abbey just opened me a full current account,wich will be a month old,if i wait.
they are bombarding with account offers etc.
you can sometimes see the difference with each type of offer.
all offers to o/h were good.her history is nationwide would give her nothing,within 6 months at halifax she got everything.

this offer poped up the day after they declined me a mainstream card.
exactly the same as offer halfs loan offer,which she took out

To apply for a loan you must:- Be over 18
- Be in paid employment
- Not be in full time education
- Have a bank/building society account
- Have a permanent UK address
- Not have been declined for credit in the last month
- Not have a history of bad credit such as arrears, county court judgements (CCJs), default or bankruptcy
- Your address details including post code for the past 3 years, including your partner's address details, if different, and if this is a joint application
- Your bank/building society details
- Your annual income and monthly outgoings such as rent/mortgage payments
- Your employer's name and address
We need to verify the identity of all our customers. In the first instance we use a system of electronic identification and if this is successful, that’s all we need to do. The search is performed with a Credit Reference Agency, this is not a credit search and will only record the fact that we have done an ID check. If we are unable to verify your identity electronically, we will ask you to provide some original documents containing your name and address and you will be advised during the application process what information you will need to provide.
