Hi guys, In your opinions would it be worth my wife applying for a capital one card as seen as she is financially linked to me and i had defaulted with them 4yrs ago? She had a card although it was my account and like I said in previous posts I have had a dubious past which is in no way linked to her.0

Just phoned CapitalOne again. They've accepted me, with a mere £100 provisional limit.
They said they're sending out a credit agreement. I'm not quite sure why, as I signed the agreement online, but hey, at least I've got the card now. Just better not spend anything more then a cup of coffee on it. :rotfl:0 -

Its a choice thing as well, don't force it - let things flow naturally and he'll learn from friends etc who they support and make his own decision, a top is just a top after all so a neutral one may be better.... Being in Essex, West Ham is the choice of most..

Evening all
I'm new to this but have been looking around various threads on and off for a couple of months now (working up the courage to properly post something, theres some mean people on some of the threads!!) I've been looking through this forum, well read pages 1-25 and then skipped to 475 and so hoping this post is the right place to for this.
Basically I'm 25, on a pretty good salary and saving to buy a house with my OH. We're doing ok on the saving front but I'm getting abit worried about the prospect of applying for a mortgage because when I was younger I wasnt as sensible as I am now. I took out a couple of cc's when I was 18, used them and then defaulted quite abit. They are all cleared up now and when I checked my credit file the other day was happy to see that they are no longer on it. The problem is that now my score has dropped from fair to poor because there is nothing on my file.
I've just applied for an aqua and a vanquis card following the posts from alot of people on here and on both of them been told that they will make their decision within 7-14 days. I'm not too bothered about the actual credit rating just actually getting the card to try and build up some history.
Have any of you got any idea of how long (if I pass and get the cards) it takes for history to update and how many months I would have to wait before attempting a mortgage application (dont really want to attempt and then get declined as dont want it on my credit file) We were hoping to try and buy towards the end of the summer but will wait longer if its better.
Thanks for reading and sorry its such a long post.0 -

As of 14th of next month, I'm stopping monitoring my credit reports. It's to expensive and I don't really see it worthwhile. I have all the credit products I require e.g. 3 credit cards (all sub), contract phone, two current accounts.0 -
