whats PODR?
Yes I agree what you mean but maybe just maybe they have the facility to override based on account conduct or maybe their score is an indication only?
I don't know for sure mate am just saying it seems unlikely to mean much due to the non status effect of basic accounts compared with status related behaviour scores......
anyway, sure someone will confirm for definite at some point.......
Sutton can you actually ask when you next ring if they use them and how they work and are scored, like I did with HSBC one? that would be handy.....2010 - year of the troll

I can totally understand your logic. Most of the time I would agree with you. But this time your wrong.
I can confirm Abbey have never ever done a credit search on me in upgrading my account or card.
Ok mate i'm just saying I think that can't be right. I'll add another scenario, lets say you still had a bankruptcy on your file - the bank would be breaking the law by giving you a full bank account.
Need I go on...... just think what i'm saying, i'm not calling you a liar but come on mate, how can it be possible?
They must have, at some point, done a search or loads of undischarged b/r could have full banking facilities illegally.2010 - year of the troll

Yes I will I'll be ringing them next week!! LOL
No override was done. I was in the branch when she did it. Just went through some gateway and applied and it said what I could have.
PODR - Preferred Overdraft Rate. I don't have over a £1000 per month going in so I can't get the PICR. Preferred in Credit Rate.

Cheers mate - like I say, i'm not saying they can't use them i'm simply saying it doesn't seem right because they have to be sure that you are not a bankrupt - moreso an undischarged bankrupt....
Anyway, are you saying you have a full bank account with overdraft and chequebook? And they gave you this without doing a credit search against you? If so mate, they are on dodgy ground and that seems to to comprehend.......
I always thought you had a basic account with abbey.... have I missed something LOL2010 - year of the troll

I now have a cheque book and I can have an Overdraft if I so wish.0 -

Hmmmm how odd mate. Good for you of course, but i'm still not convinced they necer searched you (maybe they done it and got it removed again? can banks do this by telling the CRA they made mistake in doing a search and getting it off the same day?)
So didn't you take up their o/d offer mate?2010 - year of the troll

No overdraft =no risk. I'm in exactly the same position with Natwest but they still credit searched when 'upgrading' from step to ad gold.

Could well be that credit search will only be done when overdraft or cheque card is applied for
