Advice please.
i do all my o/h banking for her and regulary get the halifax offers that arent pre approved.I think its been discused on here before.
However she has a loan with them,18 mts old,which was virtualy pre approved internet offer when she took it out.
I have the bank of scot sub prime card.I have sorted e/roll and just need a few searches to drop off to be mainstream credit,fingers crossed.
When i log onto my b/o/s card,halifax site,i get the usuall apply offers.Today i got a 11000 loan offer simular to my o/h one she had.it said they have upto 11k reserved for me rite now.apply away.
The terms are ,only for customers and all the usuall stuff.It states if my conditions havent changed,borrowed more,there will only be a unrecorded search for id."small credit check."
The confussing bit is the general terms and con state you cant have applied and been declined for credit within the last month.They declined me "at this time"for a credit card,got impatient.
The qoute section of the offer offers me it at 20%.
Does anyone think this is pre approved and the recent c card applications wont matter.Common sense would be no card no loan.However o/h is the same,loan no probs,but no credit card.?
Thanks in advance for any help.who will they search if they do do a proper search?only 6 on EQ

Hi there,

If it says to you only a soft search will be carried out, all they are doing is making sure you haven't gone bankrupt or have multiple missed payments. The amount of searches wouldn't really matter.

If it is worded the way you say it is, and you require the loan, then apply for it. The worse that can happen is that you will have a soft search on file but this has no impact on your credit rating.
