I just phoned HSBC. They said that customers cannot appeal the decision and that you must wait 3 months before HSBC can even look at your application again. They also said that branches cannot override the system and if you have been declined because of your credit rating, staff cannot change this decision.

    Hmm...

Yup I did mention earlier that you have to go into a branch cos the phone staff can't help but did you listen? NOPE!!!

Now they'll have updated your account and guess what? You can't do owt for 3mth.

Jees, why do some people think they know best? i'f you'd followed my advice - you'd have a HSBC account already

It may still be worth a try going into your local branch and asking.

Pointless now mate, the phone banking will have removed the flag that means the branch cannot touch it now. Too late.

3 months to wait now..... ho hum

You're talking out of your %$$. When I phoned them, they said how can I help, I said I applied for a credit card, got declined, can I appeal.

At what point in that conversation did they 'Look up my account, flag it so that the staff cannot touch my account details in branch'.

    Seriously, you're full of bull.

??? Im talking bank account - when did credit card come into this equation?

I think before you talk to me like that you ought to go into branch and see for yourself. I;ll explain how ONLINE works (usually same process across the board).

If you apply online and then call telephone banking this locks it so that only TB can act on account, i.e. postal. If on the other hand you went into a branch and applied, you would then deal with that branch all the time

Trust me - that is a fact and you are wrong! Put it this way, I have an account, sorry 2, with them and my credit file is a nightmare so I do know what i'm on about cos ive been through it like 50 times
