Thanks for that letter. Here is something I put together quickly. I'm going to go over it now and make a few changes.
    30th March 2009

    To Whom It May Concern:

I write with reference to my recent application for a CapitalOne Classic Credit Card and your subsequent decision to decline me the facility.

I’d like to appeal your original decision as I feel I can provide a written statement and additional information to support my application, which I hope will allow you to possibly reverse your decision in my favor.

I am currently looking to improve my credit rating and feel that the CapitalOne Classic Credit Card will allow me to meet this goal. CapitalOne offers many features that other competitors do not, which will aid in my goal.

The basis for my appeal is as follows:

I am currently a student, with a part-time job working at the Odeon Cinema. This job gives an annual income of roughly £4000. Along with this, I currently receive Disability Living Allowance, which gives an annual amount of around £2000 and Education Maitenance Allowance, which gives an annual amount of £1460. I am also going to be working full-time in the upcoming months, as I complete my education.

My current sub-prime credit card does not offer the features that CapitalOne Classic Credit Card offers, such as online access, Identity Theft Service etc, and as a result, I would like to move my business to CapitalOne.

With my explanation of my current credit agreements and my income I hope you can adjust the original decision to a positive one in my favor and give me a chance to show CapitalOne that I am a good customer, loyal and trustworthy.

I look forward to your response, hopefully with better news than last time, and to a future business relationship together as my main credit card provider.

    Yours faithfully

Nah, Orange are - thats proven fact i'm afraid. You got lucky with T-Mobile. They certainly aren't classed as easy as orange.
Orange weight credit scoring more that credit rating

I write with reference to my recent application for a BarclayCard Initial Credit Card and your subsequent decision to decline me the facility.

I’d like to appeal your original decision as I feel I can provide a written statement and additional information to support my application, which I hope will allow you to possibly reverse your decision in my favor.

I am currently looking to improve my credit rating and feel that the BarclayCard Initial Credit Card will allow me to meet this goal. BarclayCard offers many features that other competitors do not, which will aid in my goal.

I am also going to be working full-time in the upcoming months, as I complete my education. If you would like to see documentary evidence of my income and/or proof of address such as bank/credit card statements or utility bills, please advise me what you would like to see and I shall make them available.

My current sub-prime credit card does not offer the features that BarclayCard Initial Credit Card offers, such as online access, Identity Protection Service etc, and also does not have the high standard of service that BarclayCard are known for, and as a result, I would like to move my business to BarclayCard.

With my explanation of my current credit agreements and my income, I hope you can adjust the original decision to a positive one in my favor and give me a chance to show BarclayCard that I am a good customer, loyal and trustworthy.

I look forward to your response, hopefully with better news than last time, and to a future business relationship together as my main credit card provider.

I have attached a copy of my latest Credit Report from Experian. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any further information.

    Yours faithfully
