Is it worth writing a letter to HSBC, Barclays and CrapitalOne, asking them to reconsider?

    It can't hurt.

But those searches with the combination of your ages doesn't help TBH.

    did you see my post?

GO INTO hsbc! forget crappy1 and barclays, they are both rubbish and the pattern here is that they all search equifax thus your issue appears from first glance to be equifax related.

All the compnaies you mentioned use equifax so to test the system, apply to someone like RBS (Tesco card) or even Bank of Scotland and see how you get on as these search Experian....

    HSBC tend to use Experian
    Bank Accounts - Barlcays Premier[/B] - £1000 o/d, HSBC - £200 o/d- First Direct - £500
    Credit Cards - Barclaycard £2000 - Silver Card £1300 - Flybe £7500 - HSBC £1000 - First Direct £2500 First Direct Gold £3000

I know that I was referring to Barlcays, Cap1, and the others.... but HSBC also search equifax - soft search.

It depends and thats why i said go into branch cos when they can see you in person they can override for you.... makes life easier.
