Rang Equifax and CIFAS don't have to inform CRA's that you have a fraud marker.

    Absolutely disgusting.

    Not good is it.

I'd be willing to bet this is a contributory factor as to why we get so many threads along the lines of 'my credit history is perfect but can't get a card'.

You could have the best credit history in the world, but if CIFAS or Hunter say 'no' that's that - and you'd never even know why.

I'm going to SAR them soon to see what they hold, can't believe the cheeky beggars take the full £10 fee!!

Not sure, but I think the whole hiding them thing has only started recently.

As far as I can gather they are actually on your credit file, but are not available for you to see, only companies that credit search you can see them.

Really don't know why these companies are not open and honest, all the secrecy creates suspicion.

  • Just tried Equifax, they want me to send through documents too. I'm going to have no paperwork left at this rate!

    Hi

Hbos shows as did the sygma one. Lloyds doesn't show though, only know this cos that guy at experian director office told me how many I had (3) and I said no 2. He said no Lloyds have one as well, I said it aint showing on my report and he said yes, they want it to remain confidential as they suspect me of account fraud! !!!!!!! I went mad.

I have had sygma removed but currently arguing the other two. They all went on since xmas - end of jan. Yea, ive made about 12 applications in that period of time but got 5 of the 12 accounts I applied for.
