:T Just got the famous welcome call from Vanquis! They have accepted me for a card. Intend to put it in the wallet and spend a small amout, maybe £50 - £100 per month, then setttle the balance in full each month. Thanks to you all for the help you offered me over the last couple of days. Quite surprised to get the call so quickly as I only applied on Saturday night!

Off Topic but does anyone know when you upgrade to sky + from the standard sky digital do you get a new dish and cable or is it just stick the new box in and leg it!!

Thanks everyone! My Sis upgraded and they simply replaced her skybox.

I'm pleased for you, told you to re-apply, as your credit has improved, what limit and APR did they give you?

you will get a new dish as you need 2 cable coming in your home for sky +

Hi Clio, you will have a new cable because you have two feeds with Sky + and Sky + HD, so you will have a double cable coming in not just a single one.

You won't get a new dish, maybe a new LNB which is connected to your dish.

:beer: Well its mainly thanks to you I tried again! They have offered 39.9% apr - which is steep compared to other cards - but because I intend to settle balance in full I should, in theory, be ok.

I am not easily tempeted to splash the cash, in fact I have grown to be quite a tightwad of late so this shouldnt be a problem!

PIN arrived this morning for my basic account with Bank Of Ireland. Only a cash card account but its great because they do not credit check you in any way
