Sutton, how long were you with Abbey before they gave you this upgrade?
What's your credit history like? I remember as saying you have a default or two.

I've been with Halifax for about 8 years and have been stuck with the same CardCash account from the begining. I'm looking for an basic account I can built up an internal score with to get a full current account as my credit history aint the best.

I have been with Abbey for years and years since 1991.

Yes that's correct I have 2 defaults which have been paid recently.

Anyway if you open an Instant Plus account with them you will get a Electron debit card , after 3 months pop in or ring your local branch and ask if you can upgrade they should say yes, 3 months later you should get a mulitfuction card.

Through the whole process they never have done a credit check on me, if they say they do take no notice, they don't not on upgrading anyway.

I had a basic account in November, they changed it to a Instant Plus in December I then have been upgraded to a Abbey account today so thats just under 3 months. So hopefully by May I will have a Multifunction card. If you want a multifunction card you have too pay £500 pound per month in you can use your imagination. Also don't have any DD/SO returned.
