Thanks Sammy.
Hope the new mortgage benefits you. 3.45% is fantastic, I know interest are low at the moment.0 -

I know, but a satisfied default has to be better than a un satisfied. IMO.0 -
Any more news on Sub Prime credit, don't hear about it much these days, any newbies out there want to drop in and tell us your story?
I think Mr P, it's getting harder and harder to obtain credit even if you are spotless, as you said yourself it's not a right it has to be earned, and you are spot on.
Have you received your Bank of Ireland Credit card?0 -
Hi,
Hoping one of the "regulars" can help a newbie.
I applied for a Vanquis card July 2007 and they turned me down, advising me to obtain my credit file.
I put it on my "to-do" list and only got round to applying for my credit file via credit expert last week.
Having checked my report, I can not understand why I was refused an acccount, all that is on there is the details for 3 credit accounts. 1 is my mobile account, 7 payments all up to date (7 green 0's)
1 is for a settled provident (sorry was desperate for the money) loan which is marked as Satisfactory this loan was taken out after my application for the card was declined, I was supposed to pay £38 over 13 months but settled it in 4 months.
I took out another Provident Loan and this is showing the last 4 monthly payments as 4 green 0's.
I am on the electoral roll at my current address, have been here for 2 years.
Any clues?Official SOS Club number 011 - Dry until 17/11/20090 -

Have you received your Bank of Ireland Credit card?Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0 -

Have you re-applied Victor? It could be back in 2007 your file wasn't as good as it is now, you could try again and see what happens if you get turned down, appeal and point out all the good things on your file.
Good Luck. BTW I love One Foot in the Grave0 -

Just back from a delicious meal at a Spanish restaurant with my friend from Birmingham0 -
I was instructed to go in there because I just opened a Halifax Reward Account and they said I actually had to sit down with an advisor and pay £100 cash in to activate the new account. When I got there this terrifying dragon from hell looked at me like I was a squished up dog turd. Then she proceeded to try to force me into upgrading to the Ultimate Rewards acc (the one where you pay £12.50). She was so aggressive that she almost had me in tears. She was shoving this factsheet at me and going "Now tell me EXACTLY WHAT DOES YOUR CURRENT BANK DO FOR YOU COMPARED TO THIS??????"
She had such a vile energy about her.
She sounded like a rather unpleasent person. Did you open the account?0
