Hi love, can you tell me about the Dell finance package - what CRA do they check, APR, is it easy to get etc? Thanks

Hi,They checked experian, don't know if they check others...I went for first year £10 per month followed by 36 payments... APR depends on status...got £40 cashback via Topcashback...package included three years repair and accidental damage protection...and got free video camera!!...;)

    Afternoon all,

I'm thinking of applying for a Cap 1 CC at the end of the month/when my credit report is up to date based on some actions below. This will be my first CC in years since a few credit issues, so I thought I would let you know my situ and see if anyone reckons I will be accepted!!!

Out of my two Credit Reports Experian is the best, so I thought I would apply for either a Capital One or Vanquis, unsure yet but maybe you could shed some light on which one I have more chance with!?

    Here are the facts:

Lived at current address for 1 year - I have no landline number though

Registered on the Electoral Role recentley

0 Credit Searches in the last 6 months

    5 Credit accounts

1 x Halifax Current account - £500.00 overdraft - £142.00 balance but fully up to date. £0.00 balance by end of Feb
1 x Barclays Current account - £150.00 overdraft - fully up to date, £0.00 balance
1 x Halifax Personal Loan - 11 months to go, £2,445.00 balance - fully up to date
1 x O2 contract phone - fully up to date
1 x DEFAULT, dated Aug 2005 - Original defaulted amount of £612.00 - Fredrickson, from Lloyds TSB overdraft, £217.00 balance. This will be fully settled at the end of Feb when I pay it off.

The default is obviously the sticking point, but I am hoping once this is marked as satisfied and it will be over 3 1/2 years old, with everything else up to date this may help?

Current Credit Score according to Experian is 817 - Fair, Good starts at 884 so I might check this again once the Default is satisfied - just for my own peace of mind as I know this is not taken into account, but makes me feel better for the fiver it costs :)

Anyway I just wanted to know if you guys think I might get accepted for one of these Cards, and which one I should apply for first. I won't be doing anything until all of the above has been done and is visible on my Credit Expert report online.

Getting a CC, even sub prime will be a real landmark for me and hopefully the begining of better Credit options for the future!

Look forward to your valuable advice as always. Excited and nervous at the same time :)

Jesus chirst. Getting a bank account with a OD will be like winning the lottery to me. Lol

I have 2 defaults and can't get a bank account with an OD or cheque guarantee facility. Saying that your Default is quite old now 4 years old this year.

Try Vanquis if you want a credit card they seem to be a good credit to start.

How queer! You could give them a ring. Maybe they have already opened your account.

Amazing! How did you manage to get all that with the defaults? How many defaults? What else is on your credit report besides the defaults?

Well the Halifax Classic I've had for donkeys years! The others I've all got in the past year. On my Equifax I have 2 deafults for about £4k each, but both are settled. On my Experian report I have no defaults, which is even better lol.

Tbh, I think it helps that we are homeowners and earn a half decent salary.

But I don't think I'll be getting any more lol
