Hi Peeps!
Computer has been out of use for a few days while Mr P did various updates...:o boy, did I miss this thread!
Lunch today was a tin of chicken soup from the back of the cupboard (bb date 01/09, so that tells you how long its been in there...!!:rotfl:) and a ys tiger roll from Asda at 16p for 6.
Dinner this evening is pancakes. I know we are officially a day early for Shrove Tuesday, but we have quite a few eggs going out of date today, and although I'm sure one day will make no difference, we are not particularly bothered about being 24hrs early! I am having mine with lemon and sugar (original and best!! :T) while Mr P is going to have a feast of disgusting sweet-ness...nutella, banana, pear and golden syrup (hopefully not all in the same pancake!!)
Hope you are all having a good week...

All this talk of pancakes has made me text my Mom to make sure she's making them tomorrow for me:D .
I always get Mom to cook them, I've got to 30 without ever making a pancake and I'm not about to start now!;)
The good news - she's all geared up to make some (or lots- everyone else seems to stop after 2 but me I could eat them all evening):DA smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Mmm, so could I Tixy, looking forward to tonight's tea!!
I confess I bought a jacket pot yesterday for dinner after having a bit of a manic un-organised weekend, but back on track today with pesto pastaWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Lunch today was jacket potato with baked beans and dinner was a pasta bake with ham, leeks, spinach, courgette and cherry tomatoes in a cheese sauce...
Hope everybody who had pancakes this evening enjoyed them!

Piglet - I finished my pancakes yesterday and haven't bothered today.
Tixy - go to the supermarket and buy ready made pancakes or buy a bottle of stuff and add water to it and shake, pour it into the pan and voila.
Had lunch out today (in the spa) bowl of homemade tomato & basil soup with small bread roll, glass of iced water, small slice of lemon cake with half a strawberry, I declined a dollop of cream. Drank loads of water today and had a detox smoothie (strawberry, pineapple and orange). Dinner tonight was a Lidl cheese n tomato pizza thin crust (it was one of their really cheap ones so it didnt have much cheese on it).0 -
Pesto pasta for me again today. I'm toying with the idea of giving up bread fpr lent, but that might make this challenge a bit difficult... We'll see!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

Lunch today was a chicken sandwich (from home) and a packet of crisps (multipack). I've also had some cake that a mate brought in.
Succumbed to a can of coke...70p...grrr! But needed it to keep me going this afternoon!
I've got £7.62 to last til Friday/payday - for all the family's needs, so could be a challenge, or could be really easy!!

Lunch today was ham sandwiches. Dinner was risotto.
I am very happy today because I got a new job and it was quite unexpected. My current job (which was reduced to part time from full time in January) officially finishes tomorrow - although there may be a few extra odd hours still there next month if I play my cards right...
Anyway, we are putting our house on the market next week (wrong time, I know, but anyway...) and I didn't think I would be able to get another job knowing that I am hoping to move over 100 miles away in the (near) future, so I was going to rely on savings (and, if necessary, as a last resort, parental borrowing :kisses3:) until the house sells. However, yesterday, through word of mouth, I got a call from somebody who wants to employ me (part time, but better than nothing! :T) for the next few months, or until my house sells if that is quicker - fingers crossed.
Sorry if this is the wrong thread to post on, and I don't mean to sound boastful (I know a lot of people are being hit by redundancy at the moment - and I was one of them last September, before I took on my current job as a short term contract), but I am so relieved - we have some savings but not enough to live on indefinitely, and while the offer to borrow from my parents is genuinely meant, they are not Rockefeller/Getty league either, so this has lifted a big worry from my shoulders. At least now our savings will last a bit longer, should the house take a while to sell.
Thanks for letting me get that off my chest - phewwwww!!! :rotfl:

I don't actually work at the moment, but I am glad this thread surfaced again, to remind me that there is more to lunch than sandwiches when i do go back to work!
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
