    Mmmmm food :D

Okay well first off I am training for the marathon so my food is a bit crazy at the moment in an attempt to get calories into me (I run 50 miles a week now so need them :D)

But today I've had at work:
    2 croissants
    1 pear
    1 banana
    3 toasted bagels and cheese
2 coffees (proper coffee using a filter)

Which I bought from home - did have to go out and buy some choccie but got it on buy one get one free so have the free one tomorrow.

So I spent £1 so far and will run home so that saves me £1.50 tube fare :D, and the bagels were 50p last night!

Tomorrow will be a nsd (I hope :D) with pretty much the same!

Today I've had a third of a pack of hummous with crackers (works out at about 34p). Also brought organic yoghurt with me -I don't buy individual pots but a large tub and pour it into an old nutella jar glass with the plastic lid - the glass helps keep it cool (about 26p). Plus I have an apple for later.

I bring a diluted bottle of own brand no added sugar squash everyday. They do have free stuff at work I could drink but it tastes nasty and sugar filled. I want to save money but I also want to have teeth when I'm 40!

I always have tomato cup-a-soup in my draw in case I'm peckish to keep the munchies away. Usually I buy these when they are BOGOF but I recently got some from approved food really cheap.

(although this week im off sick, so have made a huge mediterranean lamb shepherds pie and two loaves of bread to keep me going so far)
£5000 debt cleared thanks to MSE advice :money:

Afterglow - can I come round yours for some food - mmmm sounds seriously good :D (cant believe I'm still hungry!)

What makes it mediterranean as opposed to normal sheprards pie??
  • Fab thread! I always take my lunch to work it saving me about £3 per day I also take bread in with me so I can make toast for breakfast, the only thing I have to get is butter when its my turn ( we're on a rota) but it still works out cheaper than buying it, our local cafe charges 80p for 2 pieces of toast and its not even nice bread!

    Today I have had-

2 pieces of toast ( finished off stale bread!)
HM veggie soup ( made from the worst looking veg..but it tasted fab!
    Banana and some blueberries

For Dinner I had HM spinach and ricotta cannaloni, I made loads so guess what Ive got for lunch tomorrow :D

  • Morning fellow Packed Lunchers...

Well yesterday was FAB - Has a great lunch and only spent 50p.

Had a voucher for tea (a christmas gift grom the Grandfather-in-law) so went to The Oddfellows for tea with my lovely wife. 2 meals, shared a pudding, bottle of plonk and a pint of Black Sheep for only £6.30 (after voucher redemption)..... and great company and conversation to boot.

    Todays Dinner is....

Pasta, Tuna, Salad leaves with lots of bit included (fete, sweetcorn, celery etc).

A 1 ltr bottle of diluted juice (semi frozen)

    Orange and Melon Medley

***All brought from home and made from stuff in the cupboard or fridge***

    Todays Spend...

Spend 50p so far on a cup of Tea. I'm hoping that will be all I spend.

    Byeeeeee.

We're having either turkey steaks in breadcrumbs (end of loaf to use up) or homemade lasagne, depends how lazy I feel. Lunch will be soup made from whatever veg I have left before the new box gets delivered this arvo.

Am taking OH his lunch later, but did pack him off with giant H/M pasties, so he shouldn't be starving if I can't get out til later.
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Current Pay Off Target : £1500

We don't have a canteen at work so I've been amused for years by people buying tasteless ready meals or Boots meal deals (it's NOT a bargain, would you have needed a smoothie if it wasn't for the deal or would you have had juice?!) when I've got a delicious HM meal to tuck in to! It's funny, I always get "oooh that smells so nice" and when I say it's just leftovers people say, "oh I couldn't be bothered to do that", or "oh, I couldn't get my act together to plan like you do". IT'S LEFTOVERS! NO PLANNING INVOLVED! *sighs*

    Anyway. yesterday I had:

Tupperware soup pot with HM stew - made a big batch at the start of the week and am progressively working my way through!
HM apple flapjack - recipe from this month's Tesco magazine, really nice
Apple & orange from fruit bowl at home
Chopped up Tesco £1 pineapple and Aldi 49p for 6 kiwi fruit, with pot of Somerfield £1.57 for 8 Activia yoghurt
    Free tea from work!

    People are so silly....xx

I always try to take lunch to work with me.

    Today it's pasta.

Hopefully will get some suggestions on here as I'm getting bored with taking the same things most of the time!
  • I have a big tub of yoghurt, its all we had in the fridge :(
On the plus side work have free Fruit, Biccys, Tea & Coffee :)
