Lunch today was the last of the (in)famous rice dish - just as good the third time around!
However, as we ate quite late at lunchtime, dinner this evening was soup with olive ciabatta rolls out of the freezer (another yellow sticker bargain...:p) - we weren't hungry enough for a "big" meal...
Have a great weekend, everyone!

Hee hee piglet...know what you mean about just as nice the 3rd time round.... just wondering if I can do it all again next week - have to do a batch for the week or I'll 'forget' to do a packed lunch each night and end up on the slippery slope!
happy fridays!x0 -
I know what you mean, wheredoesitallgo
- if there's two things this thread is showing me, its
1. I don't mind batch cooking and eating repetitive meals during the week!
2. My freezer is like a holding ground for yellow stickered items...most days seem to incorporate something which has been reduced!
And do you know what...? I don't care about either of these things- in fact, I'm quite happy! :T The repetitive meals are yummy (otherwise I wouldn't be willing to eat them so often...;)) and I think I've turned yellow sticker hunting into a bit of a hobby
- I enjoy the challenge, am delighted when I am successful, and have never have so many groceries from M&S/Waitrose and the Finest/Taste the Difference range!! :rotfl:

We are currently trying to "cycle" though our freezer (so nothing stays frozen too long and everything "keeps moving", as it were
), so lunch today is "freezer dip surprise" (microwaving as we speak!). We like to live dangerously in the House of Piglet, so make a point of never labelling what goes into the freezer...!! :rotfl:
Anyway, 90% of the time we can tell what everything is, but just occasionally we defrost something and find that it is not at all what we thought it is - a prime example is today... I am eating a portion of bubble and squeak (I just fancied it when I saw it ) and we had dug out a portion of what we thought was leftover Chinese takeaway for Mr P. Turns out he is actually going to be eating a curry (what we had presumed was Chinese rice and curry sauce is actually Indian - not a lot different I guess because it is still rice and we were expecting curry sauce anyway, albeit Chinese, but a surprise nonetheless!!).
Luckily, he's happy with either option...

Just a cornish pasty for your tea MrsP? I don't think that would fill me!!
I've brought in ham sandwiches today, made with some leftover cooked ham that Grandma gave me (the bits the dog didn't get!), and the leftover posh lovely bread I got yesterday to go with soup.Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
