Two letters - DD
What is it you do with your life that's so meaningful you think that Doctors should (pay to) study for years on end, work for nowt, put up with a load of crap and more stress and pressure than any office-bound old grunt will ever know and not mention it?
It's all well and good to express your views, no matter how different, on the forum. But some posters (with multiple personality disorders - you know who you are!) take pleasure in personally attacking others when they happen to state something about themselves.
Pathetic.
thats not me, it was purely an observation, and i found it rather sad to be observing it from some one in such a noble profession. maybee my perception is wrong, but im always open for correction if i am.
but hey whatever, i know who i am, the doc knows who he is, and this is just the internet.
why you feel the need to claim that im expecting the good doc to work for nothing, and fund his own training i dont know. work for free and take nothing but crap i do not know. i didnt say that. i dont think i even implied it.
just a shame realy that were on a thread discussing how to make life harder for the most deprived vulnerable and poor members of society, and you want to come rushing to the defense of the doctor, call office workers grunts, rate my contributory worth against a doctors. and genraly just pretend i said things that i didnt.
strange world indeed:beer:0 -

any other time and any other thread i could only agree, and would be more than happy to jump on any one attacking a doctor. but it just dosent feel right when im seeing my fellow man labled as SCUM (not by the doc) for having low expectations in life, a low income, and very little hope of more.
and the good doctor wants to play the victim when i rightly or wrongly think he needs to check his attitude.
on this occasion, i realy do think he needs to get over him self, and apreciate the privaleged and superior life, he went out and got for himself.
were talking about how we can make life harder for thoes who are truly having it hard is now an apropriate time to be telling us how hard it is to set your self up for an carerr in an elite profession?0 -
LOL, and in the long term youll be pulling what? 60, 70, 80k am i even getting warm yet.:rotfl:
on the one hand its boo hoo im worth so much more. please feel sory for me.
on the other its look at me im a martyr, show some gratitude.
get over your self, :rotfl: :rotfl:
your so far up your self, you dont even realise what im getting at, i dont want you to feel GUILTY i actualy want you to apreciate what your career pays and stop belittling such a sum of money and making it out to be peanuts and thinking such a paltry sum isnt worth doing the job for.
har har "i wouldnt have done this for the money, would I".
it stinks;)
and what responsabilities are you bigging up? doing the damn job you trained to do properly.:rotfl:
we all do that one mate:rolleyes:
I suppose the title of the thread is about bitterness...right on topic dad-of-4.
If I thought "such a paltry sum" wasn't worth doing the job for, I wouldn't be doing it, clearly.
I am most certainly not a matyr, nor have I even made myself out to be, and no, I would be a very unintelligent person to actually think there wasn't an easier way to make more money (there are plenty).
I do love my job, yes, and that's actually pretty cool being able to get up in the morning and go and do something you like everyday. I'm sorry if you haven't found what you enjoy doing in life, but don't belittle those of us that have.
Oh those responsibilities you talk about? People's lives. Some people make mistakes at work and perhaps they set the team back a week on their assignment, or short change a customer. We make a mistake and people can die. It's not a power trip, it's just reality, and it can be very frightening when you are on your own age 23 and 3am on your first night at work.
Well, anyway, I'm back off to work now. Hopefully you will never have the misfortune of being treated at hospital, but if you do come my way, I'll certainly know who you are....the one bleating how it's so blooming unfair that you have to pay taxes for arrogant scum like this to treat you for your heart attack that you got by stressing about other people's careers on an internet forum.
Hope you have a nice day.0 -

I can't get over the anger just recently on these threads, we had a (fairly) calm and pretty understanding board a few months back...it seems to have gone a little boob up since we have been made a main stream board.
I see people as people and not defined by the job they do/don't do, how much they earn/don't earn or where they live. It matters not one jot if they rent a studio flat or own a 6 bedroom mansion, earn 80k or claims benefits - it is the person who counts.
I really do despair at times.....but it doesn't mean I am going to scuttle off into the darkness (before someone tells me that if I don't like it then I know where the door is), I prefer to stick around and try to do my bit (along with others of course, I am not god!) to try to bring this back to the discussion forum it was before.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
what a stupid post - we should do what china does and have such an envious himan rights record.
I cannot be persuaded that this world would be a better place with 400 million extra Chinese. There are just not enough cockles to go round.
I also find it difficult to believe that life in Liberia (set up by migrants full of dreams from USA) has a better human rights record after 150 years than does China (& especially Hong Kong).

Well done to the OP for creating what must be the fastest growing thread on this part of the forum.
I only score 3 out of 4 on this test: depression, homelessness, back problems, reduncancy, etc then no one has the right to judge. Like SS my kids qualified for AA (that's attendance allowance - thank you everyone) I like to think these experiences helped us to stick together as a family and motivated the "bootstrapping" attitude to life. Unfortunately living in a slum on benefit seems to sap the drive of a lot of people rather than motivate them. At the very least the able bodied should be expected to maintain their local authority homes and then claim for a materials allowance. The "I've smashed the glass in the window, when are they coming to fix it" attitude is ridiculous.
Starting point for the discussion/balloon debate: Assume that 10% of world money has gone to Heaven, now list those who must cut back and/or pay more taxes:0 -

that means the bad back brigade and the depressed brigade can get back to work. lazy scum. who cares if you are depressed. I ain't happy, but I work.
I am dismayed that 29 people (and rising) could thank a poster for writing the uninformed price of trash that I have pasted above  Very, very sad.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
I believe wholeheartedly in the democratic process. I think the NHS was one of our finest achievements as a nation. I strongly support benefits for those who genuinely need them.
But no-one can deny the system is deeply and irrevocably flawed.
Bankers getting bonuses while the working class get their P45's. Social workers who hold meetings about holding meetings while children suffer. Pensioners freezing to death while drug addicts are bought laptops to "encourage" their rehabilitation.
I could go on and on and on........
The f-e-ckless seem to have inherited the earth and I for one resent me and mine paying the price.
Starts off OK, I suggest you change your reading habits'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. I'm glad it cheered you up. You obviously need a good giggle. Maybe now some of the toxic chemicals are out you'll be an oh-so-slightly nicer person.
