  • Hopefully I made it 25

I know (suprisingly ) 2 people who have a free car cos of depression on motability one of them hasnt even got a driving license, the other has a soft top astra sporty thing.

Neither of them have any intention of changing the situation because, quote "I got a new car thats free"

You are paying for that car btw.

Also the one who hasnt got a license is signing on and working too

you are also paying for his dole too

    Thanked rhe post by mistake:mad:

Just to say YET AGAIN, that people on Disability Benefits are allowed to work, full-time even, and to a much more limited extent , so are those on Incapacity Benefit.

The motability car is not free, it is paid for with the Disability Allowance and is how that person choses to spend their money.

Many people on Benefits are also taxpayers - my husband receives a small amount of Incapacity Benefit (after forty years working) and pays tax on his Teachers' Pension.

I can't believe the amount of times I have pointed out these things, I wish people would find out the proper facts before ranting.

Good point. Why post at all? Ego, boredom, occasionally a point to make or argue.

  • The system we have is a VERY good and fair system it helps those in need..........

unfortunately a lot of people ( lazy scum) have spotted they can take advantage of it, and do.
those being paid to run the system are scared it may collapse, they dont care about the sysrtem, just their job, so they turn a blind eye.

Those caught abuseing the system need proper punishment IE working down coal mines for the rest of their lives on only bread and water ( I grudgingly offer water but they'd die otherwise) they are the lowest of the low, they abuse charity, which in turn, inevitably, denys those that need it

We have a country where paeople who fought on the beaches of normandy are dieing of cold and perfectly able people geting a 16 grand car cos "they are depressed"

Bring on this recession I say, It will sort out the scum from the real produtive decent people

I believe wholeheartedly in the democratic process. I think the NHS was one of our finest achievements as a nation. I strongly support benefits for those who genuinely need them.
But no-one can deny the system is deeply and irrevocably flawed.
Bankers getting bonuses while the working class get their P45's. Social workers who hold meetings about holding meetings while children suffer. Pensioners freezing to death while drug addicts are bought laptops to "encourage" their rehabilitation.
I could go on and on and on........
The f-e-ckless seem to have inherited the earth and I for one resent me and mine paying the price.

har har "i wouldnt have done this for the money, would I".

    it stinks;)

their in lies the problem with extreme views, their just never thought out so well, My views are main stream

why? because your not alone in having this view? so it must be right?

if you dont think work is the meaning of life, then why do you want to force it on everyone? Because if more people work rather than laze around the tax take will rise there-by improving funding for NHS, etc

so your happy to FORCE others to work so you can have better health care etc.?

and where is the gain for you in doing so? No personnel gain for me, but a more just and reasonable country

Using FORCE against your fellow countrymen is Just & resonable, and not extreme?

and i dont mean make pension optional, i mean if labour is to be forced, then why not just force us to work till we die? Don't know what you mean

lets just go the whole hog, and be true economic slaves (i thought i was being obvious here)

the gov hand out for pensions is irrelevant as is the hand out for doly's, sick, single mums or anyone else some are so outraged get financial support. Don't know what you mean, how can it be irrelevant that millions are denied the option of working, saving, buying stuff they want

so FORCING people to work, isnt forcing people to work, its realy liberating them into a world they have been denied access to? so what is it people are angry about?, and why are you advocating forced labour and contribution? is it realy nessasary?

where do extreme views end? was hitler voted into power on a promise to Gas the Jews? and other atrocaties. Don't know what you mean, i believe in democracy

a democracy that uses force to make people go out and work and dictate a way of life. isnt their a conflict of intrest in their somewhere?

some of the extreme views that are expressed only make me think that if we actualy elected someone with thoes views, that would be the type of person that would stop at nothing, to achieve their agenda. We are very likely to get an old etonian as the next PM, are you talking about him?

it was purely hypothetical, im talking about people with extreme views running the show,i dont care where they come from.

and ive yet to live under any governemnt that i actualy felt wasn't self serving. That would be cause humans are involved i guess.

Ahh thats ok then, as long as were only screwing over each other eh? picking on the weak, the needy, the vulnerable, afterall were only human and if we can do it to our own, it just shows how much they deserve it, eh?

it does actually happen by mistake 99% of the time im sure, unless im looking through rose tinted specs!! but i doubt it i remember watching a prog from years ago its been happening for years and years!! just the system now pays more to assist them.

21k for a doctor is not a very high salary, not when you take into consideration the hours and the abuse they have to contend with.

cant remember now what else i read or wanted to put so off to get tea and biccy!!;)

The recession really seems to be bringing out the worst in some people. The amount of vitriol and abuse on these boards over the last couple of weeks has been disturbing - not just towards benefits claimants, but also towards those who - heaven forbid - "steal" taxpayers money by looking after sick people or educating the next generation. I'm now less worried about losing my job and home than I am about what we are turning into as a society (and, god knows, the last ten years have shown us to be greedy, selfish and individualistic enough).
