wow... do you use that line in court?

I did once, when it was appropriate.

  • The motability car is not free, it is paid for with the Disability Allowance and is how that person choses to spend their money.

Yes, and no. THe higher rate of DLA mobility is £46.50 a week, or £2,418 a year. You give that up, and in return get a new car every 3 years, insurance, road tax, tyres, servicing, maintaining, and break-down cover. Which can't nearly cover the actual costs.

    Succint but worthless comment.

Would you like to explain why?

OP - It would be better to go for constructive argument than invective IMO. Just abusing people isn't really that helpful nor is it in the spirit of the boards.

Oh how they laughed "the spirit of the board"

Good lord this board does nothing but abuse the disadvantaged

So how would the current situation form into such plans? Im sure there are thousands of parents up and down the land made redundant through no fault of thier own.

What do you propose to do with them?

    They have no proposals.

Just their bitterness to bed down with.

Whats coming out of this thread is that people on benefits should be encouraged to get back into work.. one way or another.

Be it by lowering their payments or forcing volunteer work on them to help the community as a whole....

Something needs to be done to stem the tide of little britain-esque characters putting a claim on my hard earned cash.

I`m willing to bet that my cash is earned harder.

Well, I had a doctor who couldn't tell the difference between eczema (which i've never suffered with) and a rash from a very bad viral infection. Two weeks incapacitated in bed later, a second opinion and some blood tests and I was finally able to start recovering. Never even got the eczema cream from the prescription as i knew she was talking bollix.

Well why not train to be a doctor, then you can diagnose your own ailments and stop moaning.

Believe me, I argued my case. I was very very unwell at the time and she was having none of it. I also had a run in with her a few years later (I won''t go into it as very personal) and since have specifically asked no to see her and have made written complaints about her competence. Funnily enough, last time I was at that practice she wasn't listed on the partners. Hope she got the boot. I'm not the kind to just put up with something if I know it's blatantly wrong.

I wouldnt expect a doctor to know evrything in a few minutes. i would expect them to take a few minutes to assess the very obvious evidence and act accordingly. After all, that's why they go to uni for six years.

that has actually made me giggle.
