We had a huge store called Living but unsure if this was a national chain
  • Dewhurst The Butchers. Excellent meat, and ham carved just how it should be. Not hacked at, which is the norm in my local Sainsburys.:(
We could all learn a little something from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.
  • How could I forget Athena I loved looking at the posters, and Midland bank my first bank acc!

We still have a Wimpy. We don't have a Maccy D's, BK or KFC. It's pretty expensive though - and I always feel obliged to tip the girl or boy who serve us cos they're only young.

wait for it this is a good one GREEN SHIELD STAMPS TA DA

I didn't know MacFisheries was actually a shop! We had the factory here and my aunt and uncle both worked there. My mum used to get a shopping list from them and used to put an order in, and they used to get stuff at a discount. I always wondered why they sold stuff like golden syrup (in a clear plastic tub with a black lid!) when I only thought they did fish.

  • Was Food Giant a national chain? I remember ours it was grim, there was no shelves, and they left the food in boxes on the floor!
