I would've told them to foad and carried on walking, they have no power at all to stop anyone. Any security that aren't police are just people in costumes.
However, lol @ some of the replies here. The evil big companies are coming to get you with their power, run away!0 -
Hi all.
First of all, what is 'foad' (I think I know the 'fo')?
Then just thinking about this, I think I might have enjoyed tipping out everything I had with me in front of everybody in the store and very loudly insisting on an apology there and then. I'm 62 and less inclined to be embarrassed about these things than I perhaps should be.
In South Africa (unsure if anywhere else), there are areas where bags and parcels (apart from handbags/purses) are placed before going into the shopping area. In Spain, I think, they are even better, with lockers for your (own) shopping trolley.

Totally disgusting the way you have been treated, I am sorry but what good is a generic run of the mill pc splurged out letter going to do that has non the less been sent out to many many customers. Like someone mentioned before it is ok for us to be day in day out be overcharged and go to their CS cap in hand like we have done something wrong with no way near an apology and the overcharged monies slapped in our palm.
Supposedly we are in an economic crisis and companies should be doing their best to hold onto customers not send them running in the opposite direction.

im awful at writing letters, argh:)
I noted that the OP kindly provided you with many links re: the Consumer Action Group. This is very useful information for us all.
The following is where you should send your complaint letter to. If I can be of any assistance writing a letter for you, just give me a shout. Alternatively, please call the Customer Service Department and explain how badly you've been treated.
Inappropriate power trips cannot be allowed to happen. We owe it to ourselves not to let this happen again.
Obviously, as you have said, the hardest hitting protest would be for you to take your custom elsewhere, but please do complain first, or nothing will change.

If you do decide to phone re the post above, don't use their rip off revenue sharing 0845 number, use this one instead; - 01274 261000.
When are companies going to learn, we do NOT like revenue sharing numbers!!

Not every one has "inclusive" calls, (they are NOT free!), also the line rental has increased for EVERYONE with BT, whether you call those numbers or not so that they can recoup from everyone the cost of the "free" calls!, or are with BT, ALL other telcos charge well in excess of BTs charges,(outside calling plans), mobiles can cost up to 40ppm, (not included in calling plans), and calls from a payphone cost 20ppm when 01/02/03 numbers from a call box cost 1ppm!Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0
