Glad you seem to be over it now Lokolo.;)

I am very tired, (you can see my long post was posted in the wee drunken hours) and I get angry when tired :p

However I have had a long day so now I am just urgh. And have work 5-8, so leaving in a minute.

And I went past a mobile speed camera over 30 this morning. (around 33/34) Not sure if it would have got me though because it was on the opposite side of the road and there were cars coming the other way.

I am overbudget by a lot.

All in all, crap month lol.

Just caught up on the rest of the thread, just to clarify
    1) Because you reversed into someone in the farming industry, everyone else in the industry should loose their jobs.
    2) If someone drove into your car and left you with broken legs beacuse they weren't superman and couldn't see through people's heads, that would be ok as an excuse.
    3) If you'd reversed into a pedestrian it would be their fault for not moving out of the way in time.
    4) A pedestrian or potentially small child can't be hurt provided the car isn't going too fast or hadn't moved more than 5 yards.

Just so I've got it right.........and people say they've dumbed down the criteria for people getting onto degree courses!
    Riding out the receession.........

Going through insurance, be prepared for a higher bill than £1500.00.
First thing coachworks asked me "is this through your insurers are are you paying for it?" Mmm, wonder why:confused:

A bad repair is always noticable, so why shouldn't they get the job done properly. As this is a fleet car, the manager will have access to advice even on a Friday Or Saturday.

Don't you see the knock on effect the accident may have caused?
The salesman was late for a meeting, maybe a vital one. He then had to report it to his manager. Manager flips as this may be the last straw as the company is fighting for survival and so on.
Oh forgot, you wished them all pain didn't you?

The money you lose will be a great incentive to drive with more care in the future. I wouldn't mind betting that your driving is already more cautious.

As for the great job you're getting, why flap, as you'll be able to afford it. Though don't bank on this job, as unless it's a Hospital Consultancy or Member of the House of Lords, which I doubt, it may evaporate along with many others.

You and the salesman may even find something to discuss in the dole queue.:rotfl:
Or even sweeter Karma, you may want a job they are offering.:rotfl:

I read this thread to offer two pieces of useful advice. However, due to your rudeness to other posters and your ill wishes to others, have decided to keep them to myself.

Yeh I won't be as nice on the road in the future. I should have got the other car to reverse instead of me, but if I do I won't reverse until I get my passengers to duck their heads ;)
    Or even..............................................................
Try using your wing mirrors. How do you think bus drivers, van drivers, coach drivers manage. EH?

Perhaps you could let us all know your route and at what times you will be using it.
Seems to me that you are totally irresponsible and not only at driving.

4 miles per hour over the limit in a built up area,(you do know what a built up area is I suppose?) on the wrong side of the road into oncoming traffic?
I hope you're removed from the roads. Toute de suite.

Mutter - the 'built up area' has roads eqivalent to 3 lanes and has huge paths. I was driving 4mph over, I highly doubt you drive at 30mph in a 30 zone. I wasn't on the other side of the road you silly silly person. Please re-read, I will explain in very simple terms.....

I was driving on the left hand side of the road. Parked opposite was a police speed camera van, (I was not on that side of the road silly!) i.e. on the right hand side lane. I was driving at around 33/34 MPH in the 30 zone, there were cars coming from the other direction in the correct lane.
I think thats a little clearer - do you understand now? Or do you need me to type it in more simplistic terms?

I did use my wing mirrors. As stated already, he was in my blind spot, do you know what that means? It means my mirrors can't see him, I turned to look behind me, could not see anything, so started reversing. I then hit his side wing.

And please, keep them to yourself, you seem to be so far up your own backside that I would rather not hear them.

    1) Because you reversed into someone in the farming industry, everyone else in the industry should loose their jobs.
You're silly for not reading what I said. I said the boss should, but I highly doubt he will lose it anyway with the vehicles they lend out!

    2) If someone drove into your car and left you with broken legs beacuse they weren't superman and couldn't see through people's heads, that would be ok as an excuse.
Someone who reversed 5 yards at minimum speed would not have broken my legs.

    3) If you'd reversed into a pedestrian it would be their fault for not moving out of the way in time.
I didn't say that, I said at the time I was reversing, the speed, the distance, a pedestrian will have got out of the way, unless they were blind. Or in a wheelchair. Or very old. And if that was the case they are obviously more stupid for me for going inbetween 2 cars which are still going.

    4) A pedestrian or potentially small child can't be hurt provided the car isn't going too fast or hadn't moved more than 5 yards.
    I didn't say that.

Also I got 3 Levels at ABC grade, I am not thick, nor incredibly smart, I don't think there was any need to mention anything about my intelligence nor my degree?

As for the job, I got offered 2, if I lose one, I am sure the other will take me. If not, I wouldn't go on the dole, I would go back to work I did before university partime :)

The 2 above posters, please re-read everything I have said. You seem to be missing a few points I have made and making up facts.

At least Inactive gives me some constructive criticism!

They do. Its me that can't get them. They wouldn't allow it, I think its because I'm young

Yeh its just I was willing to pay it, the guy seemed nice enough, we sorted it out there and then, then gets his boss to phone me and says it will be £1500 when the chances are its not.

I hope the farming industry goes to **** and his company becomes bankrupt and he loses his job tbh.
That is so nasty! I cant believe you would really want someone to loose their job and go bankrupt which may affect any children he has just because he is doing what is right.....going through his insurance company.

You were in the wrong and youre the one wishing ill on him???

    You are nasty!

Ok, so on Friday I reversed 5 yards and a car was behind me. I scratched his front bumper and bent his side wing. I asked to not go through insurance because the damage is repairable for a few hundred £'s.

He phoned me today claiming it will cost £1500 to repair, there is no way there is £1500 damage to the car.

To compare, there is nothing to my car. (not even scratches)

It looks as though I will be going through insurance now but it there anyway I can get an independant assesor to look at it rather than take his word?

I don't know how you've got on with this, but to put the price into perspective....

On Monday last an ambulance slid into my DH in the snow & scratched/scuffed his bumper.

He got a quote for the repair to pass onto the NHS insurers, just under £500, for a bumper & spray of bumper.

To put a new bumper on the lights have to be removed, so that adds to the price.

Your accident not only caused bumper damage but side wing damage too. So sounds not as far off as you think.
