Just think, you'll be able to eat all those things you love that he wasn't too fond off and no one to moan about biscuit crumbs in the bed :D

Moggins is trying to say *you'd be better off without him*. Don't mind her.:D She's easily confused.

Cooking a bit extra and freezing works for me and menu planning so you are using fresh/fridge ingredients that you buy before you need to throw them out. Hope you are coping ok. It must be awful for you.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

  • Sorry to hear of your predicament - its lousy isn't it?

I cook for one and it isn't always straighforward, so I suggest you menu plan with what you have available now, this way you can make some storage and freezer space available so you can make larger portions and freeze them down for later weeks. I know there is a temptation to hang onto stuff "just in case" but if you are unlikely to use or eat it then bin it! It helps mentally as well as keeping things tidy and making room.

I think that faffing around doing little bits of cooking wastes time and money, after all the cooking times are the same and after a day at the coalface you do not always want to start from scratch.

Have you got your vinegar, bicarb and washing soda in yet - Its compulsory on this board?

Sorry to hear that you are now on your own but you could try to think of it as a "luxury" - you can watch whatever you like on t.v. - eat what YOU fancy - stay up late etc etc.

If you have stuff like pasta, rice, potatoes, cheese, eggs, bacon and milk. Tea,coffee, bread and cans of tomatoes then you can cook a good selection of meals just from that as a base.

Somethere there is a thread on cheap meals and caterina made a pizza from scratch to feed six people for about £1.30.

Have a look on the old style board for ideas that will suit you.
