  • Hi

Sorry to hear about this. Bulk cook in SC and freeze portions, take HM lunches to work etc etc.

I just split up with my partner and I moved out on Sunday so I know exactly what you're going through... Unfortunately I don't have a freezer at the moment so food shopping was a nightmare last night! I am going to make some meal plans at the weekend for the coming week so I can be more prepared... The steamer and slow cooker are raring to go!

Feel free to PM me if you want to chat?! :D

Oh i am so sorry, i hope it was on your terms... Is it a good or bad situation u are now in, are u happier?

Well as u paid the majority or the share, then it shouldnt come as a complete shock to you. But now what u will need to do in relation to the food shopping, is make sure u buy bargains!! Look for the cheapest version, get buy one get one free's (but only if u were going to buy it in the first place!!) and try and make the meals stretch for as long as possible!!!

    Have some hugs from me!

Thanks for all the good wishes.....

I was a sort of amicable split I suppose in the fact that we are still on good terms and speaking etc.....

He has always had horrific debt problems and I've tried (with the help of this site) to help him - but he was never interested! in fact he got a 6k loan out in jan while i was away on holiday! Sneaky or what!!!

I know I'mbetter off on my own but it's a bit like a car crash - you might walk away withought a physical scratch but it still leaves you a bit rattled! if that makes sense...

Thank for all of the tips so far - I alrady do the vinigar thing and have a HUGE backlog of cleaning rpoducts so don't need to worry about the other things for a while, am getting a re-quote on the house insurace - think I can save a bundle there too - so am on the right track at least!

And the take away bills will go right down as I have no one there to sabotage my Weight watchers diet any more!

I know I'll be fine - it's just getting from here tothere and trying to cut as many financial corners as possible along the way!

    Thanks again!

Sorry to hear your unfortunate news, but at least you parted fairly amicably. Sounds like he just didn't want to be helped - in which case you are better off without him.
I know it won't seem like it immediately, but I would look on this as an opportunity. You are starting off again with a clean slate as such. You decide what you want out of life and strive to achieve it. Set yourself some goals or ambitions and work towards getting them.
I'm sure your life seems empty at the minute, but try and look at your situation positively ie what situation might I have been in 12 months down the line if we hadn't have split up. You know the answer is a worse one, so you did the right thing. Good luck. :grouphug:

    Hi hotchick,

I'm really sorry to hear of what's going on in your life at the moment. I hope things get better for you soon.

As you have another thread on the same topic on the families board, I'm going to move this thread over there so that they can be merged together.
