    Afternoon everyone,

aw i`m so sorry to hear of so many people with problems. Job worries, family worries and all the rest. Nothing seems to be easy these days and more and more people are struggling in many ways.

I`m sending huge ((((HUGS))) to everyone, not that it can help but my way of saying that you are all in my thoughts.

Reverbe - I hope that you are feeling a little better now, things can really get you down sometimes. special ((((HUGS)))) for you.

I`m another one who refuses to have the news on television, it depresses me to hear of all the job losses and the effects that this has on everyone. Mr Sunny is becoming obessed with it so i just leave the room, i walked in halfway through something that he was watching a couple of days ago, i had to go upstairs afterwards for a good cry. It is all very upsetting. I wish i could win one of those enormous lotteries and give money to all those who need it most. I feel so useless sometimes.

I`m going to put the radio on and cheer myself up whilst i do some more scrubbing. Have a nice afternoon everyone.

  • I am a bad mother - little bear is in the next room, I am of course listening out for him, but I am letting him get on with causing mayhem.

I have been sorting through paperwork. I'm just trying to remember what the piles that little bear hasn't trashed are. I am going to make a list of all names, addresses and reference numbers for things like banks etc and put it on Google Doc so that I can get at the stuff when I need to, in an internet cafe if necessary.

Well, I am feeling unreasonably down. I could, of course, find things to complain about, but I am going to try and make at least a positive statement everyday on here - should we try and form a group? Halight is inspirational and so many of us are struggling that a daily positive statement may be good. I don't want to be like some of those who go through all these affirmations and look like they have been taken over by aliens, but today I am going to make one affirmation every day.

I am very happy that I can use the internet and make informed choices.

There are lots of others I could make but I am saving them.

I am also having two as standing 'happies'. One is, 'It could be worse, there could be snakes', which is a paraphrase from Sybil in the Fifth Elephant and the other is, 'I am happy that it is not always like this'

Sincere and gentle hugs to all that are struggling. I also think that coming on here to let off a little steam is an absolute vital necessity.

Another standing happy could be that I am very happy that I can post on here.

And I have been in touch with the British Heart Foundation who have a local man with van so I can start loading that up.

Thanks Peyton, can't seem to log on properly, will give it another go tomorrow, looks like some good stuff on there as well.

Reverbe - hugs hun! Don't know what to suggest really, no job is horrible, especially when you want to work. Is temporary charity work a possibility? Or do the powers that be see that as making yourself unavailable for work? Sorry if you've already though of that or tried it, just thought it might help the boredom xx

Sybil - oooh, now listen to me closely, YOU ARE NOT A BAD MOTHER! You are a very good mother to little bear, he sounds like a very happy and well adjusted toddler, and yes toddlers are meant to be naughty, that's their job and what they're good at! Well done on finding a man with a charity van! I'm pretty certain that if I felt down or had an abcess, never mind both, that I should have taken to my bed - you are an example to us all xx

Patentgirl, sorry about the job situations, but what fab news about the baby, congratulations to all of you xx

My parcel from Amazon has arrived with my Victorian Farm book in, and Our Hidden Lives - it looks brilliant, thank you so much to whoever recommended it, I know it was someone on here! Also got the HSM piano book, oh it'll be fun tonight - dd1 is teaching dd3 how to read music with this to help her apparently! Think I'm rather glad I shall be at work tonight lol!

Well to keep a bit of OS in here, I have put on more washing, don't have to dig far into the kids rooms to find more! I'm trying to get ahead as I have a friend and her boys staying at half term, and don't want to have to dig out piles of rubbish from under dd1's bed or ds's - as that's where they'll be staying, and need to clear dd2 and dd3's room so that dd1 will fit in there, we'd be hard pushed to get anything in there at the mo, never mind another bed!

Hi all - just popping to send (((hugs))) and good wishes to all who are feeling down and those who have started getting colds and bugs. I've done lots this morning and now my back is aching a bit, so I'm going to have a lie down on the sofa.

OS-wise, I've made two loaves of bread and prepped the rice in the Remoska ready for tonight's chilli, plus I've hoovered and dusted downstairs, done some other work.

Hope Bargainbird is over the worst and will be back posting soon with all her baby news.

Beth - you're off to China tomorrow, is that right? Have a great time!

Well, off for a lie down.

    See you all later.

  • Hi Guys!

Thanks for all the well wishes. Still not good today but I am really trying to keep positive atm as I will go insaine (sp) otherwise and like others have said, there is so much doom and gloom about presently.

Wannabe Sybil-Please go and chat with your GP about other possible meds. I am pretty sure that you shouldnt just stop medication without checking first. I am not moaning at you, but I wouldnt want you feeling low if you neednt be. Chin up!!

OH is outside gardening. The WM and DW have both been on. DD hoovered all downstairs and the sofas last night, then moped (sp) through for me. Bangers & mash for dinner and managed to buy some 97% meat sausages..they were 2 packets for £4.50, which will do 2 meals for us. House quite clean and tidy.

    Hope everyone is well.
