Morning all
Brrr it is a frosty freezing morning here. I think I am like lots of others here today and have a severe case of the January blues so ((((hugs)))) to all that need them.
Hester I hope things turn out ok for you
Yesterday I made a lamb tagine with couscous which was delicious. DH decided to help me out and thought that I didn't have enough dried couscous in the bowl ready to soak so added 3/4 of a packet   I didn't notice untill he had already soaked it and was fluffing it up. I now have enough leftover couscous to feel a third workd country. Dinner tonight was simply going to be baked pots but I need to think of something to do with all this couscous.
Was a bit lazy over the weekend but did get a huge amount of stuiff taken to the recycling plant so at least that was something. Kitchen and bathroom surfaces got a swipe down and vaccumed and dusted the living room and that was it. I did manage to pick up 4 energy saving bulbs in Mr T's for 40 p and bought a newspaper and got another 2 free. I was going to do so much but tbh I just feel so crappy and achy atm. For some reason I have such dreadful leg weakness just now. Hopefully it will clear up soon.
Enough moaning and rambling. Tomorrow will be more positive or else I will need to get you guys to give me a kick up the backside.
Have a good day all

Sistercas yes I am lucky thatone of the christmas gifts I got was a lovely le creuset tagine. I love it so much. For some reasons the tagines now taste better than they did in a casserole. Maybe it is just my imagination

Morning all
Happy Birthday Gracie and fingers crossed for Hester.
Well it's that morning after the weekend when the house looks like a bomb has hit it so I shall be tackling that this morning. Not very happy with OH as apparently he has been wandering around websites he shouldn't have and now the computer is doing exactly what it wants to do.
At least it will keep me off the computer this morning and doing some work!0 -
Good morning folks,
Tired today, sitting in bed with the lamp and laptop again! Didn't settle well last night. Talked to DD in sunnier climes and she almost convinced me to visit in the attempt to get much needed light and sunshine, but I don't think I feel up to the trip. I'd be OK till I get to the destination airport, but after that.... well I don't know. I would have to go on Wednesday in order to stay within my current period of sick leave. I haven't had the injections. My DH could be off on his work trip abroad at any minute, OK well, with only a week's notice. My dd will be working some of the time and I don't know how I would cope in an unfamiliar environment. Would also put us back with our repayments. DH doesn't mind that if it makes me feel better, he's a sweetheart, I must take care of him!
So..... back to reality. Have told friend that I don't think I'm up to goddaughter's 18th at the weekend. Too much noise and people I don't know. Dress not ready either.
Good OS day yesterday, said I wasn't going to do a lot, but in the end it looked quite nice in the garden, so I went outside and pottered for a bit, green bin this week, so a good idea really. DH was pottering outside too doing the fence.
Food wise, used left over chicken from Sat's roast, some cheapy AF curry sauce, made HM onion bhajis for the first time, great success and pud was left over trifle from Sat.
Not sure about today, this post is long enough, so will report back later.
Have a good day everyone."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

DaisyChain and Hester, hope things work out for you both. It must be a time of such uncertainty and anxiety for you both.
It's a gloomy grey looking morning in Staffs today. Both teens just got up and said they still felt unwell with stomach cramps and nausea, so i told them to go back to bed. Phoned school and college to let them know the kids won't be in.
Yesterday i found out that i won't be having the new-to-me car until the end of this week or even next week, as it didn't pass it's MOT and needs some work before i can have it. Still, i have a hunkajunk i can drive until i get the new-to-me car. (my parents are kindly buying it for me -i don't have spare cash for anything. LOL!)
Today is going so be a slow day for me. I'll bake some bread and potter about a bit, but don't feel i have the energy to do much more than that today.
Big hugs and well wishes to all who are feeling 'fragile' this morning, or facing financial uncertainty...i know i am too...this week i have to go to the Job Centre and i am not looking forward to it as it seems the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing with regard to my income support coming to an end and my claiming disability allowance...apparantly, i have to make a separate claim with a different place for money to enable me to look after my two children who live at home...why can't the goverment have got all this sorted so parents transitioning to disability from income support weren't left with nothing for their children to live on? Apparantly the problem isn't with me getting disability, or whatever it is now called, as i have 3 month long medical certificates, it is with getting money for the children as i have to claim child tax credits for them or something...it's all a complete nightmare. My income support stops in March, but if i want to claim disability, or whatever, my income support has to stop immediately and that means i only get disability and my kids get nothing until i can claim for tax credits (or whatever it is) for my children (they are both in full time education)...but that could take a while, i've been told, and i'm terrified we won't have enough to live on with just my disabilty (or whatever it is called).
I've made it all sound very complicated, sorry about that!Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200
