Hello everyone, hope you've had a good weekend?

Hugs to those that need them, including Pippa S, VickyA and anyone else who's in need.

Have had a restful day - taken the dog out for a couple of walks and pottered round the house. We had haggis (done in the microwave) along with mashed tatties, carrots and neeps at 1.30 pm - I like haggis, but it gives me horrendous indigestion :( So, suffering with that just now.

Got some free range eggs on Friday, so supper will either be poached egg on toast or scrambled egg on toast.

    Enjoy what's left of Sunday!

Bit of a late posting for me but glad to say that the laptop is back and I have been catching up. Didn't realise just how long it would take me.

Still feeling quite tired after having the last couple of days off. Am debating whether to go in tomorrow. Bones feel very stiff and sore. I'm still not sure if I've gone back to work too soon after having lost my dad.

VickyA - good to see your mum is handling things okay. Positive thoughts and hugs to you all
Celyn90 - good luck with the inlaws. I'm waving my fairy wand (!) to give you good wishes that all goes well.

Not much OS today. Got up early and got the threads out to do another birth sampler for my hairdresser who is pregnant. Just as well I have a few months to do because its the first time I've attempted this pattern but here goes. As I had tidied up top to bottom yesterday, it left me time to do nowt, which is just what I wanted. Did do dinner, liver, bacon, sausage and roast potatoes with veg and gravy, yum yum. Made list for Aldi, Mr T, H&B for the month ahead. Hung washing on line to dry.

Typing this little bit has tired me. Will pop off now. Have a good day everyone.
I got there - I'm debt free and intend to stay that way. If I haven't got the cash, it doesn't get bought. It's as simple as that.

I have told OH that I don't want to see the food wand in the house and he is to keep his mum out of my kitchen, but I know he won't do anything about it. It's going to be hell
I vote for getting one of those children's lazer guns that flash the lights and make the high pitched sounds. If she brings out the wand, zap her with it.

    Hello all!

Sorry,I have not read the thread yet

Home again now, back to the grindstone tomorrow :(

Well, since I've been home I've changed the bed, cleaned the kitchen, currently in the process of cleaning the cooker top with bicarb and stardrops :) I've had a massive tidy up as well - I have soooooo much stuff. Really need to start clearing it out properly.

The plumber has still not been to fix my kitchen sink (it has been over a month now) Just chatted to my landlord about it and he said it is probably because of all the cold weather, split pipes etc. They are chasing him, so hopefully he will be here soon.

Dinner is leftover lamb casserole (sent home from Mother's :) ).

Ooh - forgot to say earlier, friend who visited this weekend brought with her my christmas present from another friend......it's the Lakeland tagine pot I've been eyeing up for quite literally years! Every time Katharine and I have gone into Lakeland over numerous shopping trips I've said how much I would absolutely love it but can't justify it, so what a fantastic present!

For anyone who doesn't know the one I mean, it's HERE - I now have to start looking for recipes....! :D

  • I've just had a phone call asking if I'll dog board for 20 days in Arpil, woohoo, I'm so pleased.

Never let success go to your head, never let failure go to your heart.
  • Hester - I am so glad you have had a glimmer of good luck.

For all those that have suggested freecycle, I have tried to get on it, to donate, but I just can't seem to manage, I seem to have a problem whenever I have anything to do with Yahoo. It sulks.

Also a lot of charity shops will ignore furniture and I am so fed up as lots will be put in skip. However a charity shop will be a beneficiary of the smaller items. Sadly it is anyone that I can persuade dear heart to drive past. I would love to give more to my local hospice. It may be worth ringing and see if any have a van or a kind volunteer that could pick things up.

Little bear has been running round since his bedtime about an hour and a half ago. It does sound like he has taken the bed to pieces and put it back together again, hopefully in the correct order. He has been completely exhausted all day. I am feeling a bit edgy about it - he is suffering from lack of sleep. Guess who else is, except really I am suffering from a lack of his sleep.

He was strongly told off and had the back of his hand smacked as he grabbed a handful of evil cat's fur (who is getting tuna tomorrow, regardless of the diet, as she didn't lay a paw on him). He is being a very bad bear.

    Hugs to all

    Good evening all!

Finally slumped down in front of Poirot, so I thought I'd multitask and catch up with you all!

Took dd2 shopping for the "necessary" jeans, Primark was as always very obliging! Whilst there I picked up some tops for her, they went through the till at 50p a pair, what a bargain! Couldn't resist popping into Lakeland as well, now dd2 is as much of a cookaholic as I am, so we both spend a rather nice hour tootling around what is quite a small store! I treated myself to a pineapple upside down cake tin, I'm not sure I can say it was a bargain even at half price, but it is lovely!

Came home and cooked us all roast pork, well a veg pie for me, and Mrs M's fabulous lemon roasties - my oh my they are lovely! The girls and me all had a play around with face packs, and then it was showers, followed by cocoa with cream, grated choc and marshmallows! No great surprise that I now have indigestion lol!

OS wise I have baked 2 loaves, well the panny has, and made the dough for rolls and cooked them in moski, hoovered, done 3 lots of washing and made orange and choc chip cookies with dd2 and dd3. Sorted uniforms and ironing for the week, just lunches to sort out tomorrow morning.

I hope that everyone has had a good day, and lots of hugs where needed xx

  • There are 9 jars of marmalade cooling on the kitchen worktop! I'm frankly astonished at just how much marmalade 2kgs of oranges is going to make - the bag should come with a warning! DW is loaded and ready to go, WM likewise. Electricity readings this week were fairly reasonable - Knew the night rate reading would be higher as I'd used the TD several nights, but the day rate was down a little on normal so that was good. I aim to carry on with Flylady too as it is making a difference and in all honesty I'm really liking how much nicer the house is looking. :o It's also to know that there are so many others like me, fighting a seemingly losing battle against chaos! :rotfl:

Night all - see you tomorrow!
