Good morning all,
Life's a bit busy here just now, so I haven't had much time to post. Only 4 weeks left until dh comes home to lend a hand for a bit :j Yesterday I cooked a chicken and froze it in portions for sandwiches and dinners. I also made cherry scones and raisin flapjacks, and 8 portions of ds's favourite lamb stew for the freezer.
I have promised a friend at work that I will make her raisin bread, so I need to get the ingredients in the BM. I also need to do the ironing, hoover round upstairs and then I want to make banana muffins and some fruit scones.
Ds (aged 4, fussy eater) has declared that the raisin flapjacks are "delicious in the world", so that's good. He starts school in 7 months and will eventually need healthy things to go in his lunchbox.
Right then, I'd better go and get on with it. Take care everyone and (((hugs))) if you need them.0 -

Yikes, what a horrid day I've woken up to. It's raining and miserable and I've got a horrible feeling it'll be cold out there too.
Today will be very MS for us as we're off to my mums for a traditional Sunday lunch. So we won't be using gas, elec or food until late tonight. :T It doesn't matter how a good a roast I cook it's never the same as my mums - how does that work?If I'm really lucky I can whip the leftovers away too.
I can't decide whether to walk over or drive. It's only a mile or so and will do us all good to walk and we'll be able to have a glass of wine with dinner, or I can can drive, meaning we miss the nasty weather and I can take my sewing with me and use hger machine to get it done. I'm making a quilt/blanket for across the bottom of our bed, as I've currently got the spare room quilt across it which is a bot too thick really.0 -
Morning all,
Been another humid day here but we've had rain with it as well. DH went to get his hair cut and on the walk home we decided to get some milk etc from the shop and the heavens opened. Only OS stuff I did today was the usual tidy up & meals and make a loaf of bread. Been on the bed this arv watching tennis.Federer went on to win after losing first two sets. The Claytons Aussie is playing tonight.
Talking about food with kids. I make sure DGS has good wholesome food at my place but his parents (separately) feed him rubbish. Such a shame as he loves healthy food. Yesterday he told me he had coco pops for breakfast & frozen bought pizza for lunch. I have said a few thingsfrom time to time as I feel it's important but it just goes in one ear and out the other. Not much I can do about it I know, but it upsets me.
I take comfort at least he's getting good food from here but still, one has to whinge about something.
I wonder if whatsaname has had the baby yet? Can't remember her name, but I"m sure ykwim.<hugs> to those not well. Have a great day. Byeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Morning all,
Just did a long post and lost it. Darn.
I've finished packing 1 case with the last of the ironing I finished last night. Stardropped bathrooms and kitchen floor. Nearly have an empty fride after cooking a quiche to use up toms, cheese, peppers etc.
Pre cooked roast lamb out of freezer for DH's dinner with all the trimings. I'll have mackeral salad that needs to be used up.
Our tickets and info book about the cruise ship arrived on Thurs. The info states that no drink is to be taken on board, all cases are x-rayed. Any bottles found wil be confiscated and returned at the end of the hols.
Hmmmmm, I have emptied a ltre bottle of gin into a jug and filled it with 4 lots of shampoo/conditioner, cleaned the containers and filled them with the gin. So now I have a gin bottle full of shampoo and shampoo bottles full of gin. As they are not glass or bottle shaped they wont be detected.
DH said I was either a geneious (sp) or very devious, I prefer his first thought  as it will save some cash.
Hope today is kind to all.0 -
Morning all
It's grey and overcast here but the rain has stopped. Feeling at a bit of a loose end today but will try and do something positive later like clearing out clothes for charity shop or making some HM birthday cards for the next couple of months.
On a positive note just had a lovely bacon and tomato roll for breakfast and am enjoying looking out the dining room window at all the garden birds visiting the feeders. Oh yes just remembered cooked deliious HM lentil curry in the slow cooker yesterday having been inspired by the SC thread so that's for dinner this evening and will freeze the rest.
Hugs to all who need them. :A0 -
Morning everyone,
New here...
OH has gone off to do some extra hours today, so I'm sat here enjoying a nice big cup of coffee and awaiting his return at 9pm. Will be making lamb soup (from lamb shank bones) with lentils for tea. Made rye bread yesterday. Rhubarb crumble for pudding and will think about making some homemade custard... how domesticated!0 -
Good Morning All.
Just popped in quickly to say I'm thinking of Hilstep today - one year on from losing her Mum.
catch up later.Resolution:

Morning Guys!
I hate this weather! It's drizzling and it's the worst kind of weather for my bones and joints:rolleyes: Thanks for all the well wishes too....it does make me feel better knowing there are people that do care about me:D
DD offered to do some ironing this morning for a small fee. She is saving for a camera, so every penny counts. She is also going to ask at the local bakers as to whether they need Saturday staff, but as she is only 14, I am not sure about working guidelines etc....will see what I can find online.
WM & DW have both been on. OH has peeled all the veg for dinner later and house clean and tidy. Toilet clean!
OH and friend were practising their signing yesterday lunchtime which was good fun. She stopped for lunch and just did Soup & a Roll each. Got to use my Le Cresuet Soup bowls with lids for the first time and they kept the soup very hot for ages.
Have written in everything we need shopping wise into mysupermarket and Sainsburys has come back the cheapest again. So if up to it, maybe OH can take me in the morning as it should only take an hour max.
Hope everyone is well.

Hugs to all.
