  • Well, most of the jobs got done. :o Maybe I shouldn't have set myself so many.

I did my first mystery shopping assignment today. A bit nerve-racking and I think I might've got caught out. The guy suddenly started being super polite as soon as I asked for a reciept. Maybe I'll do that in shops in general, see if it makes the service any better. :D

I'm absolutely knackered and my room's still a tip! Oh well, there's always next weekend. :D I'm going for a quick shower then straight off to bed.

    Things to do tomorrow

    Hand in society forms.
[STRIKE]Return library books.[/STRIKE] Some of them anyway.
Get at least one load of washing done.
Fill in and hand in form for my placement this semester.
    [strike]Do daily scratch.[/strike] Done.
    Post pass plus letter.
    Post dad £5 cheque.

There, a nice short list that might actually get done. :D Talk (metaphorically anyway) to you again tomorrow.

    Hi Kayleigh,

I've been reading your diary too. I did at the beginning then forgot to subsrcibe to it and there's so many I forget people's user names

Firstly... what are overtaking mirrors? I drive a car and it's bugging me :D

Secondly, well done on getting yourself to the Dr's sharpish with regards to your depression. It's a huge step to admit it and do something about it.

I wish I was as organised as you with your lists. At the moment I'm meant to be sorting out the meal plans and printing off recipes for the month, instead I'm here skulking about ;)

He he - it definitely does!! I've been doing MSs for ages, and I know subconsciously check name badges out of habit...I don't do it on purpose, but if they clock you, it certainly seems to get you better service, ha ha!! If anyone ever asks about receipts (they shouldn't do, you have every right to ask for one!!) just say something like "My New Years resolution was to keep track of my spending, it helps me add it all up at the end of the day!".

It's scary how quickly you get good at thinking on your feet (or, as some call it, lying!) I was once able to concoct, without prior thought, the reason why I do indeed have £50,000 to invest in one of the bank's saving accounts (look at my signature and laugh...) as I has just sold my house and was moving in with boyf (news to him!), I even managed to crack a joke about the housing market!! Studying Drama is finally paying off, tee hee!

Basically, on Morris Minors, the side mirrors are in one of three places:

    1) Where the mirrors are on regular cars.

    2) Half way down the bonnet.

    3) Not there at all.

I own a half way down the bonnet model which makes the mirrors a (insert rude word of choice) to see through when the engine's going and the car's vibrating away. Imagine trying to see your reflection in a pond you've just thrown a stone into and you'll have an idea what driving with those mirrors is like. Overtaking mirrors are little clip-on mirrors that attach to your quarterlight (the metal bit on the side of your side windows, the ones the driver and passenger can wind down) and act as regular side mirrors so you can actually see what's going on. They're designed for the models with no mirrors at all or for idiots like me who need them. :D Hope that makes sense, the only technical term I know there is 'quarterlight'. :D

Organised?! Me?! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Many words can be/have been used to describe me but I think it's the first time I've heard that one! The only way I can ever get anything done is to write lists and even then, things get left. So thanks for that, I doubt I'll ever hear it again. :D I know what you mean about spending half your time on here, I should be asleep by now, I need to be at the bus stop at 9 in the morning and I still have a shower to have before I can go to bed.

Right, I'm not posting on here again until I've had a shower and I'm in my nightie. Let's see how long my resolve lasts... :D

  • Hi there have you ever been shopping a little later on when there are reduced items on the shelf. I do this all the times and it really does save quite a bit.

  • Oh well, nightie, dressing gown, what's the difference? :D At least I managed the shower before jumping back on here.

@ barryslass - I don't think I shop any time but late. :D I'm really not a morning person. I'll try having a look for reduced items more often though, I think I'm right in saying they do a shelf for them, it's just a matter of finding it.

@ mummy2mygirls - Thanks for the message. I know what you mean about holding off going to the doctor's, I was terrified of getting put on Prozac. Each to their own but personally, I'd rather have the depression than get stuck on that stuff. But as I said, that's just me, no offence to anyone who feels different. And of course it's ok for you to keep popping in, I love knowing that people are actually reading this, boring as it may be.

And thanks to everyone else who's left me messages of support about the depression. It really does help. Ok, now I'm definitely off to bed. Talk to you all tomorrow.

Ah I get it but have no idea what a quaterlight is :rotfl:

Teehee, made me giggle, try having a 3 year old who wakes at the crack of dawn and you have to be out of the house by 7am and at work for 8am ;) And still I can't draw myself away :rotfl:

Shower in the morning for me now

I know, I really don't have all that much to cope with if I think about it but I still struggle. God knows what I'm going to be like when I'm older.

Good day so far, though not much has happened. I managed to completely forget my society forms, even though they were on the bed right behind me when I got up. I've now put them in my bag so I'll have to go in a bit earlier this afternoon and take them in then. I'll also put some library books in there in a bit to return this afternoon. I'm not going back on the 6 o'clock bus, it's far too crowded, so I'll just have to sit in the library for an hour and wait for the next one. So I can get them returned then.

Interesting lecture today, all about Sikhism and whether we should call it Sikhism since that's a Western label for it because imperialists insisted on putting religions into categories. I wish I had Catherine doing all of my lectures, she's one of very few tutors who can take really complicated subjects like that and put them in a way I can actually understand them. Unlike Mahinda, who's difficult enough to understand in the first place, no matter what he's teaching. :D I usually come out of his lectures wanting some paracetamol and a strong drink. :D

So, I'd better get my laundry sorted so I can get the next load in. I've got a few other things to add to my list so I'd better put those on before I forget them. Be back later.
    Kayleigh
PS The overtaking mirrors have arrived, now I just have to work out how to fit them.
