  • I bought one of those terramundi post that you have to smash to open. When we got married we put all our £2 coins in there that we got and we ended up with nearly £500. Since then I can't spend £2, I have to save them. Now though I save them for my 8 month old son and put them in his bank account in bags of £20s, hopefully it will build a nice little amount for him.

Saving £2 coins is great, you don't notice the odd £2 here and there, although I have had a purse full before and ended up puttin about £16 in his money box! :T

I hope everyone remembers this is not a competition as we do not all have the same amount of spare income and to save within your means.

I have always saved in this fashion for christmas or I would never be able to afford it.

Rikki has a point - but I'm sure we're all just doing it for fun (the club I mean, not the saving!) and encouraging each other.

And it's really good to see lots of Newbies taking the plunge - everyone's welcome, right Greenfingers? :hello:

  • I'd like to join the club too! I haven't got any £2 coins on me at the moment, but I usually save bronze and small silver - so I've raided my tin and I'll be able to swap it for 2 x £2 coins at the Post Office tomorrow!!

  • Yippee, I finally got a second £2 coin from Asda, I've decided i'm not going to ask for them in my change, just save the ones I get by chance, I know this will mean my savings grow slower but I can't afford to keep breaking into a tenner everytime i need a bottle of milk and then putting all the change into my money box.

And i've decided what i'm saving for... ME!!!, i've been dieting, lost 21lbs so far and just gone through my wardrobe and sent all the too big clothes to the charity shop. Which hasn't left me with much, I plan on a clothes spending spree once i hit my target weight which is about 2stone away
