I keep trying to go "cashless". My accounts software will tell me I take £2000 out the cash machine each year which goes where?
I don't have many outgoings that would need cash payments. All my bills are on direct debit or BACS transfer. I buy my petrol with debit card.
I just need to "prime" the debit card to allow me to go cashless.
I don't think I will not spend that £2000 I will just have more of an idea of where it goes!
I am therefore trying to make best use of any cash I do use (or the change leftover!)0 -

Yes they take 7% but I can't be bothered counting shrapnel.
Ah, you mentioned the rate firstThere are lovely moneyboxes about that roll the coins into sorted slots, I'd get one if only I ever got to save my change

When I started my spreadsheet of spending I had mostly big categories as per Martin's, and at the bottom things like Eating Out and Misc. Now I split these into things like Eating Out - Takeaway, Dining Out and Cinema (should probably have been renamed Going out!) and the Misc has got about 20 sub-categories like travel (bus fares and parking charges) haircuts, medical (ie eyes drops and cough sweets and legit Boots items!), presents and so on. At the bottom of *that* is a Misc-misc category that I wrestle to have as low as possible, because that's the real money dribbling off into the blue!Do I Need One Stops All Unnecessary Reckless Spending£2 CSC - £30 :kisses3:0 -

We have a thing at work to sort the change, just a plastic tray which counts your money as you line it up (bit like in the post office).
I think they cost about £20!
I might have a look on ebay for something as 7% is a lot of money.
I have gone part time from work to look after my son one day a week so I now have time to do stuff like bagging money and taking it to the bank etc.0 -

I should take the time to add more categories (I use quicken which I love).
Perhaps I should start a loose change account to REALLY track the money.
I think I tried this before and got kicked out of a shop for writing things in a notebook.0 -
Wow.....I have to join this club :j
I dont get many £2 coins, but then I dont spend much cash either, and there have been occasions when I've been so broke I've even had to spend my coppers _pale_ however, as I hate £2 coins anyway (too big and heavy) I've just found a nice box to keep them in. Watch this space :Tdebt free...yippee
