there is a site called bearwithit.co.uk that sell those money saving tins that need to be opened with a tin opener. Ones that hold £500 in £1 coins are £3.50 and one that hold £100 in £1 are £1.99. Postage is £1.75 on orders up to £5. Hope this helps0

Oooh.. there are so many nice ones. The temptation is too much! I bought my mum one of these a year ago and its getting quite heavy now. Don't know if I can justify that money though, I have a perfectly good piggy bank in the shape of a VW camper van (as I have already mentioned in this thread, apologies!). Maybe I will wait and ask for one as a present (but have just had christmas and my brithday is today so will have to wait a while... ). Will have a think  and see if I can fit it into my budgets anywhere. Will have to make a new category - "completely non-essential but I really want it!". But think how many £2 coins I would have to collect just to pay for it (10 to be exact), and I'm not doing too well yet :rotfl:

Do you remember that appeal they made for people to return their hoarded pennies to the banks as they were running out :rotfl:Still wish I could buy a TARDIS instead of a house!0 -

Lotta_Littlies wrote:Perhaps on the last day of each month we start a new thread in which we all add our totals so far, eg, "£2 Coin Club February 2006". Then you could just go through the one thread for each months spreadsheet, rather than having to go through several threads or one mixed hotch potch thread?
Lotta
Yes...really good idea. Have a final post with all the Savers and Amounts on the last day and carry forward the list of members and total amounts to-date into a new update thread - eg. "MSE £2.00 Coin Savers Club - March 2006" etc. At the moment I'm figuring out how to post a link to a spreadsheet - hee heeThe £2 Coin Savers Club = £346.00 (£300.00 transferred to Savings a/c)
