Totally agree!
This thread has been such fun and makes saving accessible to people who may not have normally considered it.
:j I'm up to £10 now :j Am considering at what point I should transfer £2 coins to my savings account to start earning lovely interest?
Idea! Can I change my £2 coins into notes by swapping with a friend (thus making it easier to pay into the bank of course!). Then I can buy them all back off her (with money out of the bank) and my collection will be back where it was but there will be more in my savings account!
I think its a fab scheme but am I missing something:rotfl:

and can I bring myself to spend the coins I've changed up?
Am I allowed to spend the the £2 coins I've changed up.
What do I do?
No don't spend them until you have a huge amount, get yourself a tin that holds £500 £1/£2 coins and once it's full you will have £500 that you wouldn't have had if you had spent the coin. This shows you that we waste loads of money by spending the coins so easily if they were in our pocket. Mine are going on my debts. Once my £500 tin is full, i'm putting the lot on one debt, this should clear one debt :j Also a good thing about these tins is that you can't sneak any money out as you need a tin opener to open it, unless you cheat by sliding the coins out on a flat knife :rolleyes:0 -
Well, I had to wait ages for my first one but today I got three more coins!! :j :j :j
I was thrilled when the chap in the post office handed me over a £2 coin in my change. I actually felt a wee bit excited and couldn't wait to get home and stick it in the tin. Is that weird?
Well on my way to my first million now........ :rolleyes:Boots Card - £17.53, Nectar Points - £15.06 - *Saving for Chrimbo*2015 Savings Fund - £2575.000 -
I' d love to be able to hoard these coins until they make a nice pile (just like the treasure in pirate books), but I think i'm going to start banking them at the end of each month for the interest
Especially since i've just had a tradesman round to quote for roof repairs who says it's a much larger job than i thought - will see what the others say though.
BTW Greenfingers - totally unimportant but it's frugglewump, not frugalwump, unless you're slipping in a punStill wish I could buy a TARDIS instead of a house!0 -
