    Thanks Greenfingers

You have certainly encouraged me to start saving the £2. Started last week and £12 already. Wasnt brave enough to put 3 in the pot today ! just 1.

Very encouraged by everybodys efforts on this site to get themselves sorted out.

Thankyou I don't think you realise how many people read these threads and are encouraged, I have a few problems but will sort them out in my own time.
  • I collect all my loose change at the end of every week anyway, and bank it once I have enough to fill a coin bag with whatever denomination (saves taking it all in at once & ending up with an irate queue behind you at the bank, plus I want the extra interest, no matter how small it is!)

So, can I join please? I've only got 2 x £2 coins in my stash atm, but its a start

that's stupidly wishful thinking...it may be far more mentally rewarding paying off your debts in a nice big lump of £2 coins but it is definately not more financially rewarding !!! paying the £2 towards your debt everytime you get them makes far more financial sense. I understand the premise of saving £2 coins as a little extra money saving scheme, but saving them for the purpose of paying your debt off with them all in a gazillion years, as you suggested, is downright stupid and shouldn't really be encouraged as a good debt clearing strategy for anyone on this board.

Keeping all your £2 coins from the month in a tin then paying them to your credit card company on top of your budgeted payment at the end of each month will be much more economically sensible.

    Hello Ryoooh,

Thanks but No Thanks for your post. Your tone, language and unpleasantness of character shine through with a level of spitefulness, venom and nastiness that is unacceptable for this thread. The £2 Coin Savers Club is a fun and entertaining thread for families and singles and includes persons of all ages. Youngsters are as likely to read these posts and admire the wonderful avatars as much as adults. :D

The principal purpose of the thread is to encourage the habit of saving be it a few pennies in a jam jar or something more ambitious and grand. The methods, amounts and reasons for saving are of less importance and are personal to each Member. It is the act of saving that generates the good feeling inside, promotes self-esteem and hopefully, for those that need it, provides a small step in addressing personal financial problems.

    Regards, Michael.
