we have internal internet and it says on there but i dont know if it says on my contract. cant call hr as they will ask for my employee id. when i said i was having money probs to my manager she said she had spoken o hr and they said they would be fine with a dmp but not with anything else. br is my only option. i dont like my job anyway but obv other jobs will get ref and theyll c ive been sacked. not good.

if you know your def. getting the sack, why dont you resign? they have to give a decent reference then! assuming your were a good employee!

Debt wizard says even Police men are keeping their jobs after BR.

Seek advice from ACAS / Debt Wizard / National Debt Line etc. Doesn't matter what the contract says if it is not lawful.

Better to try staying employed to maintain reference / regular wage.

i work in a bank, not sure if it's the same one you do but i do not have any clause in my contract about BR and i have gone BR. i know it does not say anything on the internal internet at my work so i am guessing it is a different bank to me. i still think you need to check your contract of employment to see if they have a legal basis for sacking you, have you checked it?

do check your contract and get specific advice like nigella says. also, is it not possible the manager you have is just saying this as an excuse? if you have been off long term sick, he or she may just be using this situation to their own advantage?

ttt sounds like that manager was trying to scare you. Check everything out. Then see where you stand.

Does it really matter if it looks bad. Three months after my bc i changed jobs(lesser paid),i never worried about what anybody thought,i was just glad to be out of there. One of my main reason for going bc actually.Dx
