Answer, No we dont need Dave+1.

Blimey, let's go read a book or something. Life's too short.

Dave is a good channel for seeing repeats of decent programmes but do we really need a Dave +1? I am sure the channel space could be better used than repeating a channel that shows repeats?
I heard that once the analouge signal is switched off they can ramp up the digital signal and have loads of channels. Hopefully most of them will be free as apparently Sky wants to charge for its freeview channels such as Sky News, Sky 3 etc... making a slight mockery of the whole FREEview. If we want to pay for extra channels we would get sky.
Also if your missing the music channels, Sky News and possibly ITV2 its because your signal isn't strong enough.

The actual channels you can receive on freeview will depend upon your location and the transmitter which pumps out the signal.

Wales and Scotland are badly served by the service.

But frankly, who really needs CNN International, Sky News, and any of the shopping channels?

As long as the good old BBC is alive and kicking, there is no real need for the junk digital programmes which are the equivalent of the High Street £1 shops.

You need Sky News and CNN to know what is really going on in the world not what the BBC thinks the general public should be told is going on. Also Sky News and CNN make the news seem intresting and revelant by going a bit over board. Witness the 50 foot "BREAKING NEWS" that appears behind the presenters when something rather minor happens. I avoid BBC news at all costs because its boring, placid and often one sided. No wonder most people are more intrested in Posh's hair cut than the Gaza when its delivered the way BBC does.
  • while round at a friends, i noticed he has rte 1 and 2 on his freeviw program list but cannot view them.think they were channels 108 and 109.
    mine doesnt.
we live in n. ireland btw so i was wondering if they were there as they may be added at some stage or if there was a way of getting them now.

we can receive those channels through a normal aerial so i dont see any reason why they dont add them to freeview here.
