For those having trouble with weak terrestrial signals, how about freeSAT instead? All you need is a satellite dish (old $ky dish will do fine).0

Thanks for the info. Keep up the good work.

The last time I scanned was because the transponder numbers changed and my Humax was showing the channels on the old transponder numbers, meaning that I had to doublecheck when I used the timer.
After the scan, the numbers were matching but my regional ITV become SouthWest instead of Wales & West.
I had to phone the premium line Humax number and be told in a somewhat patronising manner how to manually tune for my local Wales & West.
The trouble may be that I am too near the Mendip mast, so the signal from Plymouth is better although not stronger.
Just as well I watch mainly the 5 main channels and occasionally Film4 - the others are of no interest to me. In fact, I listen to the radio and read books more than I watch TV.0 -

You should be able to switch to the digital tuner on your TV and scan for channels

Have you not seen the final episode yet.. I cant believe they rushed stargate atlantis to a close... just to get ready for stargate universe... I cant remember the site, but DIVx episodes Ive seen them online.. and theyre dvd quality... fantastic. and they have them up to the last atlantis episode.
Yes, but are they legal? I got mightily annoyed (I actually feel like swearing about this that's how angry I am) when Channel 4 showed the first series of SGA then nothing afterwards. That was about 2 or 3 yrs ago. They did the same with SG and went up to series 8 then stoppedNo wonder the bit torrents are going so well. No, I don't use bit torrent as I hate it. Thankfully I have good neighbours with SKY.

Or, get somebody's cast off SKY box from Freecycle together with a dishThat's what I did. Only trouble is that my dear wife "will not have one of those ugly looking dishes on the side of the house!!!!"

I noticed whilst watching Dave (channel 19 on freeview, freeview+, TopUpTV, TopUpTV+, TopUpTV Anytime, etc) last night that there was a notice in the top left corner of the screen saying Dave+1 now on channel 25!
After a quick re-scan for channels sure enough it detected it aswell as a few other new interactive channels such as smileTV2 (Channel 46), DirectGov (Channel 106 and really useful for those without internet), CNN International (Channel 84) and some not so useful channels such as QUEST (Channel 47 - Coming Soon apparently), SuperCasino (Ch48), and 1-2-1 Dating (Ch104).
To rescan your box you should (similar but not always the same for all boxes so you may need to get your instructions out) -
1. Press Menu on your remote
2. Select Setup and press ok/enter on your remote
3. Select Scan For Channels
4. Select Replace all channels (most boxes skip this step now and replace all automatically)
5. Wait a few minutes and the scan should be complete and you'll have all your new channels
Note: TV Guides can take up to 7 days to come up to date on the new channels after the update but this will happen automatically like usual whilst your box is on standby over night
Hope this helps for those who hadnt noticed!

Also if you search the forums im sure you'll find somewhere a free downloadable weekly tv guide if you dont like going through the digital one on the box and dont like paying for magazines (which usually have on select channels and times in).
