Soory, being thick now and you've confused me with this one (not really hard to do!) do you mean will they come down in price any further? do we stock bookends?

Surely you've seen the dodgy doggy bookends!! lol. They seem to be multiplying in some stores (must be the same gremlin as in our .com baskets) !!:rotfl:

Was just wondering one of two things:

1, Are they any good tanning?

I mentioned this before, but Aerobronze (the type of St Tropez included in the set) is the best I've used. I think it's similar or the same formula as used in the professional spray tans, as it gives you the same cold feeling when you put it on. The colour is fantastic too and lasts for ages, especially if you use it with the moisturiser in the set. The contents of the set are worth £54+ not including the mitt which non-branaded ones are sold for £2-3. The Aerobronze itself is £17 in Boots. If you haven't tried St Tropez before, I'd keep one of the sets for yourself and give it a go :)

    Perhaps there's a need for 3 threads.

Grabbit board- CPG's sticky, with only posts about offers/glitches spotted. Nothing else at all.
Shop 'Til You Drop - The Bootsing Thread. Post your daily shops in here, along with any comment on items.
    Refuge Thread - Congratulations/Commiserations/I've Lost Weight/etc....

The problem with this is that if you've got a thread just to post bargains/glitches then it makes it easier for everyman and his dog to spot them, which will most likely result in more 'Have you seen so and so on ebay...' or 'People were clearing the shelf.....' type posts.

A good idea in principle, but as you said it has it's limitations. Other threads on this board discuss the 'grabbit bargains' by asking questions or discussing their experience of the bargain, so why should the Boots thread have to only post the glitches? Doesn't seem fair!

I didn't word that right - sorry ;) What I meant was ... will any more stock (like the Accessorize doggy bookends (poor example on my part btw lol) filter it's way through to the 75% off shelves before they disappear? I noticed that there were various odds and ends reappearing today in your store, like toys. Or are they just returns? Thanks again in advance ;)

est1878 - hi :) Couldn't agree more with your last paragraph. Fwiw, I'd ban this smiley -> Can't see the need for that or the rolly eyes one (apart from when I'm rolling them at myself ;) ) It might also help if people shorten signatures (or opt out of viewing those and avatars) and perhaps snip posts too? If anyone's not sure how, there's always someone that will help :)

ahh is that what they were? My store still has loads of these and gingerbread houses, I thought the dog thing was actually a collar for your dog  Mybe I should pay more attention, I could be doing with bookends.

  • Hi, I just wanted to give my thoughts on the chat & glitches etc...
I think there has been loads of chat recently making it difficult to keep up when you work full time etc. Especially those which are along the lines of where's your parcel, mine has such and such status, mine is on the van - Im happy people got their orders in but I don't need to read pages of posts about it. :o
    I agree with est1878's comments, especially re SandraScarlett's posts...they are fab! :T
Just a suggestion - how about if you are saying where you've found a good offer, you put the store name in the subject/heading to make it easier for people to filter out posts they want to read or skip...not necessarily for the really good offers where GWP's scan as £0 etc, but ones where you say this store has loads of reduced HE etc.

Oh those blooming things! I know what you mean now.

Most of the stuff that appeared in our store today was things that had been found in the backshop, bottom of trollies etc. And then there was stuff that has been returned too. No new stock has come from the warehouse.

My take on things is that the .com stock might make it's way into larger stores with the .com sale going tits up, but this is only a guess tbh. I suppose things will start to appear in the next few days if this is true. This gives it time to work it's way through the system as I imagine it could be a logistical nightmare as stores and .com are served by different warehouses.

I can't believe we're going round and round discussing this chat business again. Polls made a suggestion about not mentioning every glitch to death so that they won't be busted so quickly (as we know, sometimes the same thing is explained over and over, often on the same page). I agreed and made a suggestion about how to deal with it via PMs or telling people to look up the info if it was recently posted. Nothing was said in any of that about cutting down general chat, shopping lists, etc - it was just about not mentioning glitches repeatedly for Boots to find and stamp out. And now it has devolved, yet again, into a debate about "maybe we need more boards, maybe we should chat less, maybe we should form a circle and do a boots dance so bargains will rain on us". It makes me feel so tired. <sigh>

I haven't contributed this time round, but I'll join in a mass sigh.
I do quite like the idea of a Boots circle dance, though.

You took the words out of my mouth - I was thinking "Gosh, it doesn't seem 5 minutes since we had this last time!"

Back on topic - went to my local tonight in the hope of spotting the new No7 GWP and still take advantage of the 3 4 2 but it was nowhere to be seen. Oh well, best laid plans and all that!:D
