Yep, a few people have had that happen. The incentive bond is some kind of gift for signing up for a children's savings account with boots or something like that (I'm sure others know the details better than I). A few times when SAs have had to type in a coupon code manually, they have mistyped one number and ended up with the same code as the bond, and people got 20 quid off. I've never heard of anyone having it happen with a coupon that scanned properly without having to be typed in though!

That means Boots has reused the exact same number on the extra points voucher. By any chance do you know the barcode (or even the last few digits)? Of course, even if the rest of us have one, we'd have to find an SA willing to let it go (and they'd have to be really out of it to let something go without question when it takes 20 quid off, but several have!).

Hi thanks for that info. As far as I can remember, the till did beep on a couple of the coupons but the SA just pressed a couple of buttons, which I presumed meant that he had authorised the coupon. I think that might have happened with the extra points one. It certainly didn't look like he keyed in anything as long as a barcode anyway, if that makes sense.

The SA certainly looked surprised but didn't question it, or argue it at all. I think I was very lucky.

I'm so sorry I have no idea of what the barcode was, or any of the digits. All I can tell you is that it was from a mailing and it was at the top left of the sheet of coupons, next to the double points coupon. I do remember that, as I tore them off the sheet while in the shop. It was the 150 points when you spend £20 or more. I hope that some of you also get this to work for you - it was such a great surprise and very welcome in this climate of having to watch every penny!

Wow mimi, fab looking and you cook too! If islam allowed 4 husbands rather than 4 wives, i' d be offering at least 2 cammels for you:D:rotfl:, alas my DH's speciality is oven chips with breaded fish:rolleyes:, but he is lovely:o. That desert sounds gorge, but i may as well spread it on my thighs , cause thats where it will end up

Oooh you smooth talker you. LOL. Bless, you are sweet.

HOT/COLD: Upto you if you want to have it hot or cold. You don't have to put it in the fridge. You can just chomp on it after you put it into serving bowls, or just out of the saucepan.

WHERE TO BUY: We get ours from Asian grocery stores. They normally do huge 2kg bags for £1.50 or something when they have a sale on. Might as well stock up.

FATTENING: Oh good grief no, use green topped milk or red topped if you want to stay uber slim. Also, you don't have to hurl in lots of sugar, fling in a bit of honey or some dried fruits at the end. If you don't have a sweet tooth, the sugar doesn't matter. It's much better than a slice of cake or pudding. And rice flour is meant to be a cooling ingredient (ying and yang and Chinese cooking).

This happens sometimes, and it gives you an option on the till to choose whether it is an incentive or boots coupon, if the SA doesnt really know which one to press your luck might be in!
I am disappointed the sale has gone off .com again, didnt manage to get anything! Never mind, probably didnt Neeed anything anyway.

I have that mailing coupon - can I give the barcode number here, or is that not allowed?
