O/T but my OCD makes me blow cold food like ice cream and stuff, and i also find if you use nutmeg or similar in puddings they are 'warming' even if cold. lol

  • Wow mimi, fab looking and you cook too! If islam allowed 4 husbands rather than 4 wives, i' d be offering at least 2 cammels for you:D:rotfl:, alas my DH's speciality is oven chips with breaded fish:rolleyes:, but he is lovely:o. That desert sounds gorge, but i may as well spread it on my thighs , cause thats where it will end up

Sounds like a little poem I recite to myself .............................

Each day I ate a cream eclair
It tasted just like whipped up air
It floated, lightly, past my lips ......
And put 2 inches on my hips!

I make something similar, but alway eat one (or two!) spoonfuls hot, before I chill it in the fridge, yum :D

Always have a good look at the food items if you are going to a Boots before closing time. Most of the sandwiches/desserts/milk that are close to their best before date are on super reduce. Today I saw collections of chicken sandwiches that were down to 75p, and all sorts of desserts down to 25p. Best before dates were today mind you, but if you want to have a lazy evening and not cook, these are cheap and cheerful. I picked up 4 x 1 pint of milk's at 20p each. Went home and made this uber posh dessert with rice flower and everyone lapped it up. So posh dessert for 6 at just less than £1. Bargainlicious or what? Woohoo.

I have been looking for rice flour for my dd for her Japanese cooking. Do you mind telling me where you bought it please.

  • Hi everyone,
Something strange happened with my boots shopping today. This is what I bought:

    3 x Pantene sachets £2.91
    Boots Bubble Bath 97p
    Silvikrin Hairspray £2.73
    reduced Harmony Hairspray 65p
    reduced Model Me Shampoo £1.22
    Lexmark printer ink 17/27 £26.99

    I used these vouchers:
50 points for the bubble bath (from the machine)
300 points when you spend over £35 (from the machine)
150 points when you spend over £20 (from a mailing)
Double points voucher (from a mailing)

So my total came to £35.47 and the SA put all the vouchers through.

HOWEVER when he scanned the 150 points when you spend over £20 voucher, it came up on the till as INCENTIVE BOND and instead of giving me 150 points, knocked £20.00 off my total!

The SA looked a bit surprised (as did I) and he did a double take at the voucher, but I paid quickly before he could change his mind.

SO total to pay £15.47 (once the £20 came off) plus I got 914 points back plus no7 £5 voucher.

So then got a nail varnish with the No7 voucher plus a 250 points voucher, and something like £1.12 to pay.

REALLY pleased! Never heard of an INCENTIVE BOND before - has anyone else heard of it?
  • Want to get some nappies on dotcom (only cos it's easier than carrying them), and it won't accept any of my codes. Anyone else had this problem? I wonder if they've pulled those as well?

Yep, happened on the day the system crashed & I've tried all the valid codes from the codes screen on an order worth £350 & not one would work since!

I wondered if it was because someone had posted that they had managed to get five codes to work on a single order (by using the "comma - no space" method) & they'd pulled them to prevent misuse, till they can limit them to one per order!

Annoying, isn't it! Another issue to approach Trading Standards about, maybe?!
