HOWEVER when he scanned the 150 points when you spend over £20 voucher, it came up on the till as INCENTIVE BOND and instead of giving me 150 points, knocked £20.00 off my total!
The SA looked a bit surprised (as did I) and he did a double take at the voucher, but I paid quickly before he could change his mind.
SO total to pay £15.47 (once the £20 came off) plus I got 914 points back plus no7 £5 voucher.
So then got a nail varnish with the No7 voucher plus a 250 points voucher, and something like £1.12 to pay.
REALLY pleased! Never heard of an INCENTIVE BOND before - has anyone else heard of it?
Yep, a few people have had that happen. The incentive bond is some kind of gift for signing up for a children's savings account with boots or something like that (I'm sure others know the details better than I). A few times when SAs have had to type in a coupon code manually, they have mistyped one number and ended up with the same code as the bond, and people got 20 quid off. I've never heard of anyone having it happen with a coupon that scanned properly without having to be typed in though!
That means Boots has reused the exact same number on the extra points voucher. By any chance do you know the barcode (or even the last few digits)? Of course, even if the rest of us have one, we'd have to find an SA willing to let it go (and they'd have to be really out of it to let something go without question when it takes 20 quid off, but several have!).0 -
