Hi Amelia's Mummy, was there much left in Mr S's today? I work in the shopping centre so will be just a few stores down tomorrow. (Sorry, not Boots related)

Wasn't much left I got there at about 5:15 and the normal baskets were full of tat but SA came over and told me 'all that is 10p too' it was a big crate with some l'oreal factor 50, still loads of garnier and nivea suncream x I expect you have been to work already:o ..let me know if you got any bargains x

    Back to Boots

In a few stores have also see the tommie tippee closer to nature bottles reduced to £2.xx for a pack of 2 or £3.xx for a pack of 4.

This is a do-it-yourself test for paranoia: you know you've got it when you can't think of anything that's your fault.

  • Lots of Naked and Patently Obvious handwashes on clearance for 89p in Durham Marketplace today, stocked up for work and used the Sun voucher from yesterday to get £2 off.

Got a Lee Stafford Box Of Tricks for a bargainous £17.99 so I don't have to keep borrowing DD's straighteners and hairdryer any more. Hers are (were) better than mine but now she'll be soooooo jealous :rotfl:

Lots of suncare, natural remedies and a bit of Boots shampoo on clearance in North Road

Off topic but also got an Olay set in S*******g with TE hand cream, body anti-ageing treatment and manicure set for £1.99 and a Nicky Clarke serum £1. Worth popping in if you're passing, still some goodies to be had in their sale. Also got the SJP Covet fragrance in there, was going to use the Sun voucher but it was already stickered at £9.99  Will go with one of the reduced Covet body lotions I got in Boots last autumn and make a nice gift.

I didn't make it up to the Arnison Centre, anyone know if there are any good buys to be had there?

Thanks. Is this a new rule?

No, it's not new, but the mods probably miss some swap posts, I imagine, as there are loads of posts on this thread.

Went in there this morning as SA was marking down a lot of stuff. The Toni and Guy Model Me clearance stuff was down to 1 pound, so you can get two of these with one wrinklie. The clearance stuff seems to be on three separate shelves near the till, whereas they all used to be on one single one. Had lots of Dove bath stuff for 65p. Also had No7 stuff reduced to about 2 pounds. Also saw a few bottles of Roc factor 30 suncream down to 2 pounds, so again you could get two of these with the wrinklie.

I picked up a Ted Baker gift bag set for 3.25, but when I was at the till, they said that they couldn't sell it to me. Didn't explain why. Near the medicine section, there is a clearance bit at the end of the aisle (facing the cards and giftwrap) with reduced medicine. I got a few tubes of Savlon with an expiry date of 2011! Had lots of Nelson homeopathic things there as well.

They had lots and lots of the Gillette putting sets. Unfortunately, I've had really bad luck with these. The first time I tried to get one, the dragon SA wouldn't let me as she said that I needed two things. The next time, I tried to get it through the SS tills with two reduced Gillette shaving gel things (down to 49p each), but the till beeped, and a SA came over and told me that I had to spend over ten pounds. Had to act dumb yet again and left it. Looks like a very nice set, but thinking about it again, probably would not be practical for ma as I have a three year old toddler, who is bound to knock the very hard ball into the TV, or patio door! Would make some bloke a very nice Valentines present though (does that make me sound cheap!) Good luck to others trying to get it in there. Would definitely go to the SS tills. maybe go for one full priced shaving foam, to avoid the beeps.

Passed by some perfume sets that were half-price. There were also some printer ink cartridge refills around too. Still some Mini mode clothes at half-price at the back of the shop. I don't really understand why they don't reduce that stuff further to get rid of it. Some of it still seems quite expensive.
  • Also (sorry about all these questions), I belong to the instantly recognisable 1960s Eyebrow Club. ;) It was the fashion then to pluck, pluck and pluck again, and most of the time my fringe covers my sparse arches, but if I push it back, I reveal the unattractive "plucked chicken" look. :(

If I've got loads of time, or I'm going somewhere special, I try using a combination of light and dark brown pencils, and do little tiny feathery strokes, like you're advised to in all the magazines. Then I forget and rub my forehead, and look like Coco the Clown!!! :rotfl:

What do other peeps recommend, or should I just pull my hat down hard so that it covers my eyes? In Summer as well?

    xx

I am also a member of the 1960's Eyebrow Club, not only did I overpluck them I also used to shave the end bits of them, off so a long fringe was a must for me for years.

No matter what I tried they never looked right untill about 9 months ago my local department store started doing threading. I must admit it took me a while to "pluck" up the courage and get over the embarrasment of showing the lovely young lady my sorry eyebrows but she assured me she could improve on them if I stopped plucking/shaving them and leave it up to her. I go every 3 weeks and have them tinted and threaded and I am delighted with them as she has trained them to grow into a lovely shape while the tinting makes them look thicker than they were.

Right from the first time she did them there was a vast improvement and can I also mention that she does threading on my upper lip as well as the odd hair that spouts from my chin!

Thursday's child, where was this? I remember being stopped as I walked through a Beales department store and being asked by an assistant if I woiud be interested in having my eybrows threaded. I said I had hardly any left to thread due to overplucking in my teenage days and she said '' Oh, everyone's been saying that today'', but never suggested that she would be able to improve things for me:confused:
