I rang Sky about this deal but wanted to check if they'd activate a BT line as a part of the deal... They said they would activate it for free if I took out multi-room - I don't need this so I declined... then they tried saying if the charged me for the box (£49) and then connection (£30) thay would activate the line for free... I again declined as that would defeat the purpose of the offer.

They ended up letting me complete the call without taking the deal - I really thought they'd push for my business. I know to activate a line costs in the region of £122 with BT but as the BT site states "A £122.33 connection charge may apply for new lines, but most people find they don't have to pay this" - I suspect I would be one of those "most people" as the hardware is already in place as the house had an activated line before.

I just thought I'd share this in case any of you get a different response - I've heard before of people on here getting the line activated as a part of a similar deal.

hi,to anyone in the know abou sky are the offers regulary updated. I missed out on the free line rental deal, and we need to have our phone line activated. I'm lookng to get sky hd box and a sky + box and about £17.50 worth of programs.
