I just called up as I'm with Virgin Media, I couldn't get the broadband installation included using the online code setup....
I got the same deal +3 months free line rental +£50 M&S vouchers for my friend that referred me. No quidco but I'm very pleased!!! :j0 -
Sounds like sky still allows it, but without broadband? I dont it online a few minutes ago and just chose to have the sky+ box and 4 packages for £19.50, free installation. Order went through and says being processed?? I also spoke to a lady online (an advisor) and she said if I have a code I can get it installed free. So surely if it was meant only for only 1 person (the code) how come she said its ok for me to use?0

Sorry I should have made it clearer.. I couldn't set up broadband myself online as its dependent on having a none cable active phone line, so I had to phone up instead. However, I got an equally great deal by calling, if not better
I got free sky+ box and free set up
Variety TV pack 16.50 per month
Telephone Line Rental - 10.00 per month (3 months free)
Unlimited calls - 5.00 per month
2mb broadband = free (upgrade to 8mb £5, 16mb £10. its possible to upgrade but to downgrade will cost you, hence choosing 2mb)!
£50 M&S Vouchers for my mum for "referring" me
Total = 26.50 for the first 3 months

Hi
Everyone seems to be talking about how to get a great deal from Sky...
Need some help guys... I am currently paying £76.90 for a full package from Sky..Broadband ( which is slow) Sky Talk, and all channels, Multi Room, etc..
I then have Setanta at £15 per month - and BT line rental.
How can I cut back on cost - without cutting back on the choices I have??
I have thought about returning to Virgin...but don't think we would get all channels, only good thing is Setanta is free..(not for me - I would get rid if hubby would let me)
Thanks in advance0 -
Ah,ok Clarissa. We not thinking of changing b/band mainly coz we with talk talk and they will make us pay for wireless if we leave within first 3 mths with them. (we've been with them about 1mth only now..) but getting sky+ for that amount a mth would be worth the extra expense!
Micky: Id say call them up and say you are thinking in leaving as you can get a better deal on virgin (just say they offered you a better deal). They'll sure enough get you a better deal! We did that (told them we thinking in leaving coz can get better package)and they actually gave ALL the channels (£40)on sky for the same price as our old package (£20) to try (but we were moving after 3 mths anyway and not reinstalling sky in new house) so was great.0 -

I've always got a deals with Sky in the past (they even gave me a brand new free Sky+ box and installation whilst I was still in contract/commitment with them which is unheard of) but the deals are not so easy to come by as they used to be. I phoned up recently and they apparently had no straight forward discounts to offer HOWEVER they did offer my free line rental for twelve months if I switched over to them. Unfortunately, even though it would save over £140 per year, I couldn't bring myself to do it because I use several over-dialers to get the best call rates throughout the day and only BT are legally obliged to allow you to do this, Sky are not.
One piece of advice I'd say is if you phone up you have to say that you wish to cancel, do not say you're thinking about it as then they'll know you're just fishing for a deal. Also, be aware of what Virgin or Freesat can offer (you can exaggerate a little) and keep it friendly and civil and you never know what you might achieve.0 -
