If he picked an apple straight from a tree, would he just eat it or clean it first? And has he ever picked strawberries? You can't easily clean those in the field, and I always eat loads.0 -

I haven't, I'm afraid. Snails are good though, so I don't see a problem with them. _pale_0 -

This thread has had me in absolute stitches!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
There's no reason why you can't use mustard from a jar and I think Dijon would work equally well, cheers Racy... I stopped buying English mustard in jars as it always goes off before I can finish it, being as I'm the only one who likes it here, and the powder lasts much longer.
If you're using jar mustard you can add it to the final sauce and taste it as you go to get the right flavour
BTW, my name is Agnes, not Ethel:rotfl:

AND...... if you're making cheese sauce and don't have any mustard, a touch of horseradish sauce will 'liven it up'...... see ON TOPIC!!!!Just run, run and keep on running!0

I made this last night
Used extra strong cheader and nutmeg in lieu of the fancy "chilli" one.
Was fab - many thanks.
Oh, like MR BE I made way too much, so I've just "zapped" mine in the microwave - tasted fine.
Dont bother wasting your time on people who dont like you0 -
Great thread, MBE. I do it as well, but leave the bacon out and sprinkle bread crumbs on the top when it goes under the grill. And it is magic. :j
The quality of the mustard matters, (I'm using Maille moutarde a l'ancienne currently can get from Tesco at least) as does the cheese (duh). I like Lancashire best but any flavourful cheese is good.Where now?0 -
