Mustard in cauliflower cheese. Dried or jarFor ages I always used dried, adding it to the flour when making the cheese sauce, but recently I forgot and ended up stirring in some dijon when adding the cheese, have to say it was great!

What about using some lumps of brie? Mix them in and then when you hit one it would be like finding little melted lumps of heaven I should imagine.:DI live in my own little world, but it's ok as everyone knows me here0 -

Ooo, of course my dear, I quite forgot what with me lumbago playing up, I've been right out of sorts, and have you seen the state of this kitchen? I'll be here hours and me knees are giving me gip what with all these floors needing scrubbing and then there's the dusting, can you believe the dust on those shelves? The filter needs changing in the oven hood, there's grease all over, I'll never shift it, not without me vim. And did you see the price of a loaf in the corner shop? 8p more than the supermarket, it's shocking, that's what it is, ought'nt be allowed. I used to get three for a farthing when I was a girl and still have change for the bus home, not that we used the buses, we couldn't afford it, we had to walk everywhere, and us with no shoes neither. Cauliflower cheese you say? That nice young mrbadexample makes a good'un so I've heard, but not as good as my old mum used to do, when we could get the cauliflowers that is.

Well that Curry Queen (what sort of name is that? She ought to have a proper one like Ethel) thinks that the powder works well, but I've not tried it meself.
I like the idea of the brie that nice young bethom suggested though, although it would probably gum me dentures up something rotten. :rolleyes:0 -

ahem....I was going to make this today but a tiny cauli was 98p in Asda and I thought "I'm not paying that!" :rolleyes:
So we had a corned beef hash, first time for meI'm a corned beef virgin so when it came to opening the tin with the little key I ended up snapping the tin and had to prize it open with a tea towel over my hands to stop my fingers being severed. It's not very moneysaving to buy a tin of Smartprice corned beef then have to have your fingers sewn back on at casualty :rolleyes:
Anyway the hash was good and very cheap ...and it's very old fashioned (think I've fulfilled all the MSOS criteria there)

Well now it's Mrs EE to you if you don't mind, lets have a bit less of your cheek girl, you ought to have a bit of respect for your elders. :rolleyes: Mrbadexample tells me he got a lovely cauliflower for 89p from Morrisons, tut, the price of them these days, and it was big enough to do two lots, even if he did do them both at once, he's not very bright, bless him. Mind you, you could have made six with the cauliflowers me old Dad used to grow in his allotment, it's all down to the compost, apparently.
Now when we could afford corned beef (what's wrong with a good bit of brawn, anyway?) Dad used to open it because it was tricky. Take the key off completely, and make sure you turn it round so you're working from the bottom of the can and it should wind round just lovely, that's what Dad used to say.0 -

Ok, point taken - I'm used to threads going off topic because I spend most of my time in the arms, and this probably isn't the place (sorry Ark).
What would I have done? Washed it and eaten it. And then the same with the cauli. What else can you do?0 -
