"Self-Service" Checkout machines in Tesco

Does anyone else argue with the bloomin thing like I do? It makes me feel so much better! I also find myself talking to ATMs too! Maybe it's the first sign of madness. Our Wilkos has one of them in now and that is quite good. The Morrisons ones are good too better than ASDA or Tesco I think. Only problem is there is usually a bigger queue at the self service tills than the manned tills at lunchtime in Morro's now, don't quite understand why! And there is always one or two that are out of order.Everyone I know wants to be a millionaire.

Does anyone read the comments left at tescocomments because I am not sure.
As for the self service checkouts a lot of people use them on a regular basis so some people must like them.
I must be alone - I prefer them! It avoids the frantic packing of goods that have been hurled through at top speed, whilst a bored SA waits tapping nails, or starts throwing the shopping from the next customer. Also, I can help myself to bags if necessary without having to justify it.0 -
I have to say, I never have a problem with them either - when they first started appearing, there were a few glitches, but they seem to have ironed out most of them. I think the main problem is that people seem to choose them to avoid a queue, meaning they are often in a hurry already, so if there's any slight problem with them they are more prone to irritation.0

I like to 'beat' it - try to swipe it before it asks, makes me feel superior, sad I know.0 -

At least the machines don't stop half way through to have a chat with someone.0

Do they Tesco self service machines still demand you bag everything? I once was ready to smash it after it kept telling me that a sponge I'd bought hadn't been put in the bag, because it was too light for it to register. In the end my boyfriend dumped his wallet in the bag so the machine would get over it and let us continue.0

I get caught in an endless cycle of "unexpected item in bagging area" so I remove it, and then "item removed from bagging area" so I have to put it back.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209
